Terrible and Godspeed to the warriors. The last full measure. Side note, speculating on names or revealing classified is obviously a no-no. But discussing possible causes etc is not only fine, but probably a good thing so we can all learn about issues we might have never encountered. As an example, i was discussing this with a friend who flew the civilian version, and he mentioned something about engines at high altitude i didn’t even know could be an issue. So whether that was a cause i don’t know but i did learn something. If i would ever be in a fatal crash i would hope my brothers could learn something from it. the eager beavers of “stop” are just trying too hard to be the mature “been there done that” guys. When you have actually “been there done that” you see the value in dialogue.

Saddle up for Syria? Or Op Deny Christmas '13
Stiffler replied to brickhistory's topic in General Discussion
Assad created ISIS. Both literally and figuratively.... people hate dictatorships, they all fall eventually. But since we didnt support the real moderate opposition (Doctors lawyers and pharmacists and obama infamously said) now we are left with ISIS. Assad can never regain control of his country, even with Russia. -
Received this little doozy, and I thought we had a pilot shortage.... From: ######### 147 ARS/DO Sent: Thursday, October 31, 2013 11:17 AM To: 171 ARW/Operations Group Subject: Hat/Uniform wear HI All, We have been reminding you about uniform wear and hats in the parking lot over the last few weeks, but it has officially hit its limit. The Wing/CC was eating out at a local restaurant and saw another member of the Ops Group not wearing their hat when they should have been. This seems like a small issue, but it has gotten out of hand. If we truly believe we are the best KC-135 unit we need to show it on and off the base. Effective immediately if you are observed not wearing hats or the uniform correctly, aircrew will be grounded for 30 days and limited to that month's drills only. Non aircrew will be limited to that month's drills only. AGRs will receive a letter of counseling and grounded if appropriate. IF you need help with uniform wear see AFI 36-2903 or the 1st Sergeant (Name Removed) Lt Col PaANG Acting Commander, 171st Operations Group

Yes. And the press is obsessed with the lack of glide slope! Omg no glide slope.

Sounds like a stall. Below target airspeed, go around initiated 1.5 sec before impact. NTSB says

Guys, Gen. Welsh has his mind and his leadership absolutely in the right place. You cant turn around a carrier on a dime...it takes time. I understand the culture of complaining about everything (i do it too) but this guy is spot on. On top of the changes, he is showing the culture he wants to create, and hopefully inspiring the next generation of leadership to do the same thing. One man cant change a huge bureaucracy even if he is the boss, overnight. But he can and is sure putting us on a far better track. Dont search for defeat amidst a victory.

What's going to happen to the RC-26's?
Stiffler replied to Loach's topic in Air National Guard / Air Force Reserves
Thats why theyre looking for MSO's. Its the best job in the airforce and the best kept secret, but its struggling from the funding issue right now. -

I fly the RC26....looks like another 2 years of life till they are consolidated into one unit. If plan goes according to plan -
Why? If they get in the weather they can just stop and go down (STS)

For military guys to joke about Fratricide is wrong and crosses the line in my narrow view. Just an opinion. I didnt see the civilian reference
-
Maybe Im overly sensitive here, but this crosses a line in my mind to even joke about.

Unbelievable. As if praying publically really effects you? And if it does you may want to look a little closer at why that offends you. You misinterpret the passage, it refers to loudly talking about how awesome you are and how you are so much more of a public servant, not simply praying, silently, in public. And dude, silently praying in public is no where near the same thing as being a gay. This country has come a long way from where we used to be if this is a controversy and good military guys are taking the side of the Michael moore types (not saying you specifically are Fud.)

The breakdown of discipling comes from the air force teaching enlisted folks thats its cool to correct officers. I remember learning that our job was to kill people and break their toys. No one should be correcting people that actually go outside of the wire unless that personal failed to kill bad people or break their stuff. Otherwise STFU and know your role. That is all.

Boddingtons is amazing. Alaskan Amber, I went though survival > 7 years ago, and I still explicitly remember that beer, and how amazing it was
