Do you really? Thats awesome.

Ya i understand what you are saying though. THere are positivies to both, heavies have alot of great qualities, so do fighters. I had to get over the "ego" part...(thinking about cool music and pulling G's) but I am glad i did finally. I really enjoy the heavy life, but I have alot of friends that enjoy the fighters! All that to say...take pride aside, and determine what you wanna do in a quiet room, or a walk outside. Sounds gay, but sometimes you just have ot put external influences aside and do what your heart says. Just know that whichever route you take, the other side will look greener. It isnt that you made the wrong choice, just human nature.

Haha, ok Toro, makes sense.

Help me to understand why when we have a discussion that really does relate to military, flying, and world events, does it have to be locked? I am referring to the discussion on the muslim thing. I believe this is a relevant topic...and is important to be discussed, EXPECIALLY because it has to do with the war we are fighting! Ya it may make someone angry...oh well! No one is forced to read the topic...no one is forced to reply. 99% of my posts on here are related to flying...but sometimes I want to vent my frustrations with the enemy...and the topic gets locked cuz someone got upset, and because we got into "religion or politics." But guess what folks, our job is an arm of religion, and politics. If you ask me I think it is a case of some people enjoying using the topic locking privilege. But i dont know. I like this site alot, and wont leave of course, just thought Id share my thoughts.

That was wacked. Interesting stuff.

Did not connect dude

Is it just me, or does vance have the best graduation videos? I havent seen a good one from any other base, except amazing vance K

Dude when I was a kid I pretended that my classroom was an airplane, (like a flying school) and I was the pilot. HAHA...sure made class go by fast. But I didnt learn anything. I quit doing that senior year of college:) Sidenote...does anyone here, like me, absolutely love old planes...biplanes etc? Or are you all just in love with the jet power?

Sorry, the academy jab was uncalled for! I suck

Alright...here is a big annoyance i have with some people on here. Especially "Pre-UPT, post UPT attitude folks" Scooter, nice catch on the email. Something like that is totally worth making humor. But you holier than though "Learn how to spell" "your english sucks" "Nice punctuation" academy types who really care and have no sympathy for a young guy who comes in here asking great questions...I have nothing for you. Or better yet...I GOT NOTHIN' FER YA. Im sure when you were 16 you were perfect, had no questions, and your fecal didnt smell. But for me...when I was 16, I had no clue what to ask, how to spell, or which way was up. And it was through asking folks older than me questions that I learned. Not through some 23 year old Dip S*** who just finished AMS acting like he is already a pilot heaping out sarcasm. So, burn me for that. As for Jaspt1, good questions. If you cant get a straight answer without getting flamed, PM me, ill be glad to help you out. [ 11. July 2005, 13:24: Message edited by: KC135GuardPilot ]

Hey man, I am a WIANGer. Finishing Altus and then will be in the great city of milwaukee, come October. Where are you at? kinz

Det002...arent you late for math? I have a background...nothing too major, just dumb college stuff. I actually think that it is not a negative, so long as you truly are sorry for what you did (i was) and dont repeat the mistake. Be honest on your security questionaire, and It will never be an issue. Good luck dude.

Do you all have to spin winds there? Thats gay. I only spin winds for low levels, and thats out the window when i get there and hit "MFD Data." Of course, I am a toner. You fighter types are harrassed a bit more;)
-
Dude if you study for Phase I academics ahead of time, you are WAY overpreparing
-
Dude, seriously, go commissioned in ANG. I havent met one Army guy who would disagree...and no disrespect to their branch. If you show relentless effort and a good attitude, the ip's will do everything short of miracling you through UPT. If you have a bad attitude, well, thats a different story.
-
Thanks Farva and C17, Ya I was a bit taken aback at WXPunk. I mean I by no means am an expert compared to many on this board, but Id have to think a guy 2 1/2 months from finishing UPT doesnt deserve a lecturing to that level from a guy who hopes to someday get a slot. Oh well! Thanks again yall!
-
For all of you that just for some reason got angry at me for asking this question...i.e. WXPUNK (you know, the guy who just acted like i was some dumb ass who didnt know how to fly and he was my scolding instructor) I will say that I dont have the POH, I was trying to decide if this trip would work when I got home. Ill run the charts when I get the plane...something they teach military pilots...but I have to know whether its even concievable before i make the effort. For the rest with thoughtful input, thanks! Heres the numbers: 675'PA, 200#, 195#, 165# and 165# and about 20 degrees Farenheit. Its prolly a 160 HP version. Thanks yall!

For those who know a 172, is it possible on a cold day to take four adult males (including pilot) on this plane? Or is that overweight? I am trying to figure out! Thanks!! Kinz [ 10. December 2004, 18:48: Message edited by: ToBeKC135Pilot ]

Does anyone know where I can get this one? It just says 243.0 on it. Thanks! ADam
-
Is is possible to get on order for a bit and go to PIT as a Guardsman? Any UPT bases that do this? Just curious, thanks! Kinz
-
That makes sense, especially the server bytes part. However, the 172 rage one was obviously generating alot of interest/discussion. Why close it? Oh well;) Bush won, and I get to fly tomorrow. Im happy Kinz [ 09. November 2004, 21:25: Message edited by: ToBeKC135Pilot ]

I am trying to understand why everyone calls for a topic to be closed when they dont have a use for it anymore. The 172 rage deal, I had something I wanted to add, but now its closed. I was reading another one where after about 12 posts, someone wanted it closed. Why would you close a topic unless it is one that is not relevant or is offensive? Otherwise, if it bothers you that much, quit clicking on it to read it. Watch, this one will get closed;) Kinz

Whats the funniest thing you've heard over the radio?
Stiffler replied to Gravedigger's topic in Squadron Bar
Heres one. A new student pilot here at vance was overloaded in the jet, and was consistently told to "say altitude" from Rapcon. Of course you know where this is going. This student, flustered, responded with "Altitude." On another note, I attempted to give a Pirep on my 4th flight. Upon calling "Echo", the RSU asked for "pireps on the Northern Areas" I assumed this was a test to see if I remembered how to give pireps from Academics, so I keyed up and said "uhh, well it appears that...." I finished, looked over, and saw my IP Staring at me with the radio turned off. You can guess that conversation after that. And finally, I had a free solo after finishing tweets cuz i was like .1 under the required solo time. I went to the area, came back, and heard a chase ship procedure occuring...cuz a student went around the container, called initial (the whole time confused as to why he couldnt get above 185 K on mil power) and the RSU noticed his gear down...the whole time around the container. Sorry if it was you and you are reading this. not too funny, but my 69 cents. Kinz -
Just curious as to whether anyone knows if you can have a pilot guard committment and be in the FBI. Just curious. Got some training left to do first! Adam
