I assume the pain is being spread across all UPT bases. Is that correct? Also, how is this affecting (or how will it affect) ANG/AFR candidates? Thanks, AE

Better question: Who pays for her to eat that much? Who pays for her medical bills? If she's anything like this fat ass, she relies on the hard work of people that have real ambitions. She doesn't work: "The unemployed mother – who cannot work because of her weight..." She has good medical care: "I'll immediately contact my doctor for advice" She eats like an elephant: "Miss Eman visits the supermarket once a month with her sons Gabriel, 16, and Brendin, 12, and spends up to eight hours filling six trolleys." People like this disgust me. They are complete failures at life and drag their kids into it. Like the whale that gave birth at 532 lbs, it's ok to put your children at risk so you can break a record. It's ok to contribute absolutely nothing to society and in fact demand that society helps you achieve your "goal." Fat pieces of sh!t like this really sum up what is wrong with so many in the world today: They have no real purpose in life; live off the government; believe their actions are justifiable, even noble; and worse, people, including companies like Guinness, support this kind of behavior by acknowledging and encouraging it. Irritating.

Seriously, this is a pain in the ass. A lot of people don't know anything about this program. It took me weeks to figure this out, largely because of DEERS. My main problem was with DEERS, it said I was in the ANG, but it had me on AD orders as of the date I swore in the ANG. I have no idea how this happened or why, but it took a little work to fix. I couldn't sign up for Tricare until that was cleared up. As far as signing up for Tricare, I have no idea what the Reinstatement Request is all about. After I fixed my info in DEERS, I just went to the Tricare office, they checked my eligibility in DEERS, and I filled out the same form anyone else would fill out to sign up for Tricare. My benefits have since expired, but when I was being seen on base, I was always asked if I was on orders. I took this to mean that the medical folks couldn't readily see if I was enrolled in TAMP or any other program. So, you might be able to get care at a base before you sign up. If not, there's really no point in them back dating your enrollment date unless something catastrophic happens.

In that case, I'm sure you'll have to do MFS, but probably after OTS. I assumed you went to WP because you posted in this thread.

It sounds like you did your IFC1 and MFS in the same visit. In fact, the impression I get from the from the folks at WP is that it is a rarity to both exams in separate visits these days. I got mine certified 11 Aug and it has the same stamp. Congrats on the slot!

The IFS guide says to bring AETC patches from your home station. Where do I get them and which patches do I need other than the MAJCOM patch? I assume the 1st Flying Training Squadron for the right shoulder. What goes on the left? My ANG unit has never sent anyone to IFS (at least not anyone that has completed training yet), so they neither have the patches nor know where to get them. Thanks for the help. -AE

I'm hearing the same about the CA NG/ANG. I'm not sure what exactly is affected by the freeze though. The individual I got my info from is being asked to back fill a state active duty position (not to be confused with state military reserve),and this freeze may screw that up.

Ha! They must! I worked on that program from 2007 (shortly after it's first flight) to 2009 at EDW and it must have been the most irritating two years of my life. I am amazed at how many generator issues that thing is still having. That airplane is so behind schedule/over budget/fvcked up, it's unbelievable. Last I heard about the F-35 at EDW was that testing was going great for the A model...

No rush at all for me. In one of the emails I got on the subject, I was told to notify someone (I can't remember who) when I completed my pre-separation worksheet and ask that my orders be expedited. I completed my part and called that individual after COB Eastern time zone, left a message asking for my orders to be expedited and had them in my inbox the next morning. I actually feel like I have more than enough time to get my things in order the separate. Right now, I'm two weeks away from separating, so I'll let you know how smooth the rest of the process goes. I just got the approval yesterday. I'm only shaving 4.5 months off of my ADSC. As a previous poster said, it helps to do your homework and grease the skids before you apply. I talked to everyone from my Sq/CC to my functional manager at AFPC before I applied. I also had the ANG unit fill out the form 1288 with position info. Sending a hire letter with the application would have been another good thing to do, but it wasn't necessary for me. Background: 62E ROTC, 4yr ADSC Functional manager at AFPC is a Major I worked for in my current assignment and wrote me a letter of rec, so perhaps he was more inclined to recommend my separation. My timeline: Applied early October Applied again 26 October Wing/CC signed 29 October Palace Chase Office sent approval 7 December My first application was screwed up due to confusion over who has authority to sign. I work with a lot of civilians and have civilian "commanders" and most of them do not have access to CMS. At any rate, the second application went through to my Wing/CC much quicker, so expect to wait longer than three days from applying to Wing/CC signature. Also, on vMPf you can check the status of your application and see when the last action was taken. This drove me nuts because it never changed from "29 October." In other words, as it goes through AFPC and the PC Office, there is action taken on your application, but it won't be visible to you. This process is designed for people to request PC without yet having a job in an ANG/AFR unit. However, the best way to guarantee your PC approval is to have been offered a job, which then necessitates a process slightly different than what is in the AFI. I don't think anyone on this forum is surprised at that. If you have hopes of PCing, talk to a recruiter that has done it successfully. One last thing, anyone in the chain may recommend against you PCing, but the final approval or denial still comes from the PC Office. Even if your Wing/CC says no, you may still get approved. PCers, I'm looking into PCing a few months early for an ANG pilot slot and I have one big question. Does anybody know the current policy on recoupment of scholarship money? I was on a scholarship through ROTC and signed up for 4 years in exchange. I have served 3 years and 2 months. The reg and PC office say I could be on the hook for some of that money if I PC. They also say it _could_ be waived. The fun part is, I won't find out if or how much I owe until the paperwork goes through, so it sounds like a roll of the dice. Based on my time in and how long it takes to PC, I would only be able to shave 4 months off of my ADSC. By my own estimates, that could cost as much as $6000, not worth it for four months unless it's a deal breaker with my future ANG unit. Under the Expanded PC, recoupment was waived. There is currently no Expanded PC program (application date for the last round was 31 July, I think). For those that have PCed recently under regular PC rules, have you had to pay back any money to big blue? Thanks in advance.

From what I understand after talking to some Fresno ANG pilots is that each pilot sits alert for two 24-hour periods per month, but not back-to-back. After all, you are supposed to be alert and that's hard to do if you're pulling a 48-hour shift. Most of the guys drive down there since it's only a few hours. I suppose you could fly down there in your own GA aircraft, but the F-16s stay down there until they get swapped out with other jets. I'm not on the inside, currently still a wannabe, but if there are any guys from Fresno on here, I'm sure they would be happy to clarify/add to this.
