  1. Depends a bit on your job. If you are a flt/CC, ADO, etc. Plan to double turn most days (except when MX can't supply tails/wx days). If assigned at the OG/WG, you might fly a couple days a week and do office work the rest of the time. So, line IPs stay pretty busy flying and try to fit in office time where they can/have to. 10-12hr days are pretty common. Attached IPs--depends on the job. Expect a weekend XC every couple months, unless you volunteer more frequently. The faips take most of the XCs, to get out of town. You'll be home most days, but it may vary between 1800-2030 pretty frequently. Laughlin experience, anyway.
  2. There are actually more than two presidential candidates. Vote for whoever you think is best.
  3. Are we not doing phrasing anymore?
  4. Well, being prepared for emergencies is FEMA's third priority.... https://www.fema.gov/about/strategic-plan
  5. I've been out of the Huey for a bit. What is the gouge on the -139? Performance, handling opinions, unit ops tempo outlook, etc...
  6. That's something we really can't test until more history plays out. A sub plucking an LT out of the ocean in WWII had little impact on the war, but that dude became President later.
  7. Those in power tend to place the good of the nation below another objective...
  8. When you shoot someone multiple times in the upper torso, they will likely die. The cop was using lethal force intentionally. Killing someone intentionally, without proper justification, is generally "murder." I'm sure that the cop thought he was justified in that moment, but the film doesn't seem to offer any reasonable justification for lethal force...aka he was not justified in his intentional use of lethal force. I'm not saying he wanted to murder, but any charge based on unintentionally killing is probably the wrong charge to bring. He killed the guy because his judgement was wrong not because the gun accidentally went off a half dozen times.
  9. IF the guy had been an actual threat, he should fire as many rounds as it takes to end the threat...but looking at the video--there was no threat.
  10. I don't think you can argue dumping half a magazine into a guy answering his door is unintentionally killing him. I also don't know what non-violent felony the LEO would be charged with. Thus, it would be tough to convict on that definition.
  11. Not accurate. Some fighter FTUs are backed up, and they are looking at dropping more heavies out of -38s, with potential cross-training back to 11F/11B after an assignment in the MAF/AFSOC world.
  12. This is a forum... dialogue is the point.
  13. The fact that UPT can hardly teach RNAV approaches --the most common things available....is utterly ridiculous. Also, no timeline for improvement. "You'll get RNAV when the T-7 arrives."
  14. Every decision has an opportunity cost. What you should do is try to figure out what things are important to you and then focus on those things. If your family is good with you traveling a lot, and that important to you, take that job. If being home consistently is vital to you and your family, a 9-5 job will help you achieve that goal. Just don't be the guy that sacrifices the most important things in pursuit of less important things. So, the most important thing is identifying what thing is the most important!
  15. Depending on how bad the losses continue to be. Russia might "win" itself into near irrelevance (not total, as they have a metric #$&@ ton of nukes). China probably doesn't mind, though.
  16. In the end, Ukraine will likely have to either give up some territory or at least agree to not fight for their remaining claims (likely Crimea). That can only happen after both Ukraine and Putin decide the cost of further fighting isn't worth it. As we have seen, Putin isn't afraid to have people die for him. He might reconsider if further fighting is likely to reduce Russia's/his power. That might happen if Ukraine can keep inflicting losses at a high rate for the foreseeable future.
  17. You guys arguing for a high/low mix...pshh...so Cold War...when we actually tried to have technology AND enough mass to do things on two fronts...

With them...probably a Q1 with a few commendables. They still post on the anniversary of Waco painting themselves as heroes...

    Gun Talk

The ATF had a warrant to look for evidence, but they chose to break down the dude's door at 6AM with a SWAT team loaded for bear. They CHOSE to pick a fight when their authority was to go rummage around the guy's records. It won't be ruled criminal negligence leading to homicide, but it should be....
  20. Accepting foreign aid and seeking to make alliances (sometime in the future), are now considered acts of war? ...Half the world is now at risk of a Russian invasion, if that's the standard. Do you really want to claim that is a valid justification for war?
  21. I'll ask again, Bashi...
  22. What act of war did Ukraine commit that caused Russia to respond with a full on invasion?
  23. I mean losing their flagship because the crew couldn't do damage control properly after taking hits...because their defensive systems were off/inop in the middle of a warzone is pretty high up there on embarrassment...
  24. If they only hold signs and say stupid things, mock them and point out their stupidity. (Hopefully, that clues in their peers.) If they break the law, prosecute them.
