Seriously got it right. Standup for your dudes, and standup to your dudes. Create a team that plays hard and works hard... Competition is good, but squash the douche baggery. Be the guy you would want to approach and have looking after you as your leader/shit filter with the instructors. Remember not to get too involved in the SRO deal and let it effect your flying. Find that balance, that's why your the SRO... We preached bromanship in our class and we were lucky with the people we had. Great dudes! Our SRO was basically mutinied because he did not preach or follow the above principles. However, the ASRO did from day one and was the informal/real leader for the class. Come assignment night the SRO got a pred and the rest of the class got their top 1, 2, 3 choices... So don't suck and not take care of your dudes! PM if you have questions. The KC-10 is currently using iPad minis with phaero and good reader enabled. We are using the kneeboard or window harness for the flip. It's an whole new world using the mini. Great product. The Booms currently have a program built in for form f's, e-told for the iPad should be just around the corner. If all goes well each MWS should have functional EFBs and the apps in the next few years... It's getting around comm and politics to get the products we need.

Next year

Per AMC A1, "The '05 Maj board should have an accounting date between Nov-Jan with a board date between April-May." They also stated: "ensure you are the best aircrew member you can be (instructor), however get your AAD done and don't screw off with PME... Changes to the AAD might be coming but don't expect them to trickle down for awhile." Nothing really new above, but to the young pups: fly your butt off, become a great instructor, and work on the rest of the stuff as it comes along to not be deemed a clown when it comes promotion time. Find a bro who can help you out that is a few years ahead of you to clear the air on all the bs. Luck, timing and who you know are huge as we all know, but without being a great aviator, taking care of your training/records, and doing the "extra" things leadership deems important that luck, timing and who you know won't happen sometimes... But remember its about building credibility in your community in the jet first then outside the jet SECOND. Cheers!
