  1. Just wait until 9/11
  2. From the Read-the-Teleprompter-Contemporaneous speech: I'm not sure if that was really Larry, Moe - or curly who answered that...
  3. Apologies for a post on the heels of another, but wanted to say, I think your other weights are very accurate (and sadly entertaining).
  4. I think the probability-weighting for option D should be a heavier (maybe 75%) Once we are out, these knuckleheads are going to twelfth-century everyone they can get their filthy hands on.
  5. So agree. What's that even like, taking off with people hanging on to your UHF antennas, knowing they will not make it much past rotation? <<rhetorical question
  6. Only a metaphor right now, but here's your photo op...
  7. I'm trying to stay focused on the bigger picture. I keep adjusting the knobs to try and do that, but I think this thing is digital. Related story (to Pawnman's NPR thing): https://www.foxnews.com/us/washington-dc-murders-surpass-coronavirus-deaths-july

Thoroughly enjoyed watching Lewis struggle, and whine. As for Bottas, well let's see if there is an announcement over the break.
  9. She's back! Yes folks, back in time for the Balance Beam. Hope she survives: https://www.wsj.com/articles/simone-biles-balance-beam-final-tokyo-olympics-11627893493?st=3jzlmp139o61upy&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
  10. She just plain quit. https://www.spiked-online.com/2021/07/28/why-are-we-celebrating-simone-biles-for-quitting-the-olympics/ I think there may even be a bit of race baiting in the media on this - but it hasn't worked.
  11. Maybe so. But what does that look like two or three days in? US as the only additional player there?
  12. Close. They carry more dramatic weight, and therefore get the attention of the weak minded.

I like it, but 5 laps does make it sounds like lots of crashes (which might be cool)
  14. I can't tell if you're Sarcasming (sts) or not.
  15. ISIS seems to be moving pretty fast - If they were a "regular" (i.e. traditional) army, we could wait for them to spread out their logistics lines and cut off the head of that snake!
  16. Karma in-process: "Pakistan, After Rooting for Afghanistan’s Taliban, Faces a Blowback" https://www.wsj.com/articles/pakistan-after-rooting-for-afghanistans-taliban-faces-a-blowback-11625822762?st=pr8bgyzjdukghoo&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink This is supposed to be a link so that anyone can read the karma (story).
  17. I have my two doses, but I am worried about my balls falling off. Can I get insurance for that?

You're right, Baku would have been another win for Max, interesting, eh? And the tire mix-up. Russell topped (sts) every practice and qualifying, then lead the race until the tire slip-up. That was just too "fishy" for me. When was the last time someone's pit activity was that bad? Makes you wonder if Lewis was on the phone saying "You need to do something to get him off that track?" (I know, pretty far fetched, right?) Then there's the very slightly connected (to F1) Montreal Canadiens
  19. I can only go by what has been published (regarding continued effectiveness), and by anecdotal evidence from my physician. I guess that leave me in a wait and see. Aren't boosters being talked about, but nothing conclusive have been decided? I think that's tied in with the accursed "delta" variant - will it arrive, and from where, and to whom?
  20. Russian Navy off the Hawaii coast, and now the Brits are used for live fire training on the Black sea. Usual posturing or unusual? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jun/23/russian-ship-fired-warning-shots-at-royal-navy-destroyer-hms-defender-moscow-says

Yes, it was an exciting race. If there are some here who haven't seen it, it's worth watching (no spoilers).
  22. This just further plays into the "we're different from you," and it's all about the mentality so prevalent today. No surprise that's the way it has been spun.

And the Tire mystery is over (was it ever a mystery?): https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/12333511/pirelli-reveals-cause-of-azerbaijan-gp-high-speed-tyre-blowouts-for-max-verstappen-lance-stroll

Yes. Interesting to note that Pirelli almost immediately blamed debris on the failures. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/pirelli-believes-baku-tyre-blowouts-caused-by-debris/6541833/
