Just, wow

Today I overheard three young LTs discussing the arm pain from their latest round of anthrax shots before they head out the door for an overseas vacation. To ViperMan's point, there is info out there about what the anthrax course has done to military members in the past (especially the early days). I'm still dealing with it to a degree. Yet no one bothers to look into it, and I admittedly was guilty of the same many years ago. As one of the old guys in the squadron in the twilight of my career, I should be there to mentor folks. I've been told (in a roundabout manner) to keep my mouth shut about the whole vaccine thing. Funny how that works.

Commanders are dropping like flies this year
FUSEPLUG replied to MDDieselPilot's topic in General Discussion
So reading between the lines, I see a future CJCS, the next CSAF, and a good dude to fly with at Delta... in a very particular order. I've never been an AFSOC guy, so correct me where I'm wrong. -
Just pray they develop a vaccine for BF-24

SWA CA’s with less than 100 hours PIC are only restricted from flying “AIII mode” required HUD approaches. Essentially CAT III’s (and certain SA CAT II’s). Run-of-the-mill CAT II approaches are fair game. All FO’s leave the schoolhouse qualified to PM all approaches. Doesn’t look like this would have been a factor on Rwy 4 at LGA.
-
HUD on CA side. No autoland. Cat II/III hand-flown below 1000ft AGL. Haven’t heard the details on the LGA thing. Sounds like the FO was flying.

Same at SWA. All of the "noise" suddenly became quiet. It's a good pay bump (especially for the FO's). Retro bonus pays out on 20 Feb.

That checks. Thankfully a lot of folks are picking the TA apart on the SWAPA forum but I have yet to see a major sticking point that would cause this to be shot down. One topic they're going back and forth over is whether the retro bonus payout will be hit with 1% union dues (in addition to all of the other stupid-high taxes). If that's a major sticking point on the forum, it's probably hardly being discussed on the line at all. All-in-all it seems like it will pass. We definitely didn't maximize the leverage we have at the moment, but there are a bunch of QOL gains that could be lucrative to the pilots assuming scheduling doesn't change its penchant for doing whatever SkySolver tells it to do (which is partly why we ended up melting down... oooooh, about one year ago). And if they do modify their behavior, I guess there will be a a lot fewer reroutes, with which I am totally fine.

Early-to-mid 2000's CAFB had some classic patches!

I get the feeling there will be a certain ilk of people with zero shame who will take advantage of this like those pre-boarding in a wheelchair. But in the end, it's a lot harder to fake being fat than it is being disabled.

Low Earth Orbit is the only feasible explanation as to where all my f’in 10mm have gone.

Go to the model train expo. “You will be glad that you did!”

For sure. His priorities have shifted and he’ll be spending considerably more time at Delta for the next few years until retirement.

Multiple guys in my Guard unit (myself included) have ROPMA'd without any ACSC. I did SOS in-res before separating from AD. Not sure on the other guys. Meanwhile my Reservist buddy was recently passed over (clean record, WO, ACSC in correspondence). Two different worlds.

So which flag do I post on my social media profile so as not to be canceled? I support $3B to whomever the underdog is.

That's correct. I was denied a medical exemption in the fall of 2021 (far too long of a story to detail here). A Dec '21 memo from the SecAF basically said no/pay no points and eventual invol assignment to the IRR for TRs/DSGs. So I did no Guard duty from Jan 2022 until just recently after the NDAA eliminated the mandate, thus missing out on that good year. Religious exemptions, on the other hand, were slow-rolled and eventually a court injunction paused adverse actions against members with a RAR. They were allowed to continue drilling/flying. I was offered the option to pursue a religious exemption after my medical was denied, but I had my hill and was ready to die on it. I am in a fortunate enough position with my airline gig to be able to push back on all of this without losing much sleep.

No words yet from the ANG yet. All I want are the back points for a good year so I can get off this sinking ship posthaste.
-
Grate spell check in the very last sentence. I’d expect nothing less from the POS who shoved this mandate down our throats for the last year and a half.

Probably daily. As a narcissist would.

I would be shocked if you weren’t while on MLOA. You’re still a member of SWAPA. I was in newhire training during the 2015 TA1 and we were all allowed to vote. We had little clue what a turd it was at the time, but we were able to vote.
