  1. Unfortunate. He obviously doesn't do this engagement for free. His speech is a giant insult to those who have served in combat, and is a tremendous waste of Air Force funds. I sat for an hour and a half with my ears plugged as he yelled a bunch of loosely related stories into the microphone. The worst part was when he received a standing ovation. I understand he has seen some hardships, but do a bunch of wartime CGO's need a Matt Foley-esque speech to "motivate" them at Shoe Flag? Apparently my extensive feedback to the leadership had zero impact (edit... not that I thought my feedback meant sh!t anyways).
  2. Did they bring back the motivational speaker for this class? I believe his name is Dan Clarke.
  3. Saw an interview with a retired "rescue" guy on Fox News this afternoon. He described helping one of the pilots to safety from his ejection seat. Now I haven't flown anything with an ejection seat since the Tweet, but doesn't the seat-man separation happen in a matter of seconds for most of these things? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you don't leave the seat for some reason aren't you pretty much toast?
  4. Hearing rumors of a "strongly-worded letter" from a student in the most recent SOS class to the leadership that is making its rounds. No details as to what it's about, other than it's a doosey. Anyone see this yet?
  5. It surprises me you are just learning of this...
  6. This bio is making its rounds to the 800+ at SOS. Good luck un######ing yourself, bro.
  7. JESUS CHRIST! Oh... sorry, Tim.
  8. Looks legit. E-mail from Sq/CC today indicates this affects "several of us." By my count... 4.
  9. Yeah, I'll get right on that... More "work for the sake of work."
  10. I'm glad to see that keying the mic and passing 6 digits is the biggest problem we face in today's Air Force. Welp, back to updating my RRF for the next RIF coming down in '12.
  11. The boom operator passes the offload to us upon completion of AR. That amount is recorded on the AF 664 along with the date, tanker tail number and home-station, and the fact that it was in-flight refueling. The 664 is usually in the back of our aircraft forms binder which is turned in to home-station maintenance upon return.
  12. So how's life up there right about now? CHS ORI in progress... God help us all....
  13. Whoa whoa whoa... let's slow it down. Has anyone checked with to see if this guy is legit?
  14. That was your 69th post... you've got nothing to be worried about, my friend.
  15. I heard it was intentional and in protest to the repeal of DADT.
  16. I think that e-mail is from Ali... But you are 100% correct. There are too many people deployed if anyone has time to even THINK about memorizing anything other than Bold Face, Tech Orders, or Job Guides while over there.
  17. It's change for the sake of change. It's what the Air Force is all about.
  18. Analyst: Military bands to cost Pentagon $50B over next 50 years I guess sparkely bowties aren't cheap.
  19. What's an 8-roper? Edit: Legitimate question... and yes I do know what a desert jellyfish is.
  20. Apparently BMW is trying to market to the last 10% of AF pilots who don't drive a ######ing Bimmer.
  21. I'm looking forward to the Lifetime movie!
  22. I'm truly surprised the cockpit/box office joke hasn't been made yet.
  23. Revival. I have heard rumors about Wright Patt looking for Active Duty IP's to help with the transition from the C-5. Anyone from the 89th AS on here that might be able to shed some light?
  24. And where do they suggest the wives say their husbands went for that 4 to 12 month period of time?! Beer run?
