Going back a couple pages… What are the the feelings across the AF? As a Guard guy, my finger isn’t exactly on the pulse anymore. But as an OG, the German has an entire shop of likely non-German experts (can’t remember the acronym - I think it ends with a V) to bounce this sort of thing off of. Not saying he didn’t, but either they concurred or no one felt compelled or able to talk him out of it. The good news is, this shouldn’t affect the Q3’d reservist’s seniority when he goes back to Delta.

I worked two separate flights this week where an individual became confrontational with a flight attendant regarding mask wear. One was physical and we requested the police upon arrival. The second was verbal and the customer service supervisor we requested at the gate (just in case) elected to bring law enforcement with them. Flight crew are being put in a shitty spot with regard to this mask mandate and tensions continue to get worse. But none of that is news.

Fucking brilliant. Just had two separate mask related incidents with police called on a three day trip.

I would have drafted their Q3 paperwork the second I saw 800 pax reported on Twitter. Joking aside, I will not be surprised when AMC tries to hang them.

I appreciate the replies, guys. I’ve got two more years to ROPMA. If that means I have to hang out until 21 or 22 years to get the TIG, so be it. If (when) the next pandemic (election year) hits the airlines, I’ll probably be thankful for the DSG side gig.

Speaking of ACSC... What is the general stance regarding promotions in Guard units right now for those who elect not to do ACSC in correspondence? I am rolling the dice after giving up way too much of my life to SOS and Masters bullshit while on AD. I really cannot stomach the thought of subjecting myself to another Air University time bandit. We’ve had a few guys in my unit promote with fewer career/flying-relates boxes checked than I have. Just curious how other units have been treating ACSC lately.

Looks like textbook work by the crew. I haven't done phase sims yet this quarter, but I heard we are given this particular scenario. I don't have the checklist in front of me, but is opening the troop doors part of the landing with partial/all gear not extended checklists? If not, that's good thinking on this crew's part. I've heard that one of the first indications of the actual problem the Bagram accidental gear-up landing crew had was when the crew entry door didn't swing all the way down during the evac. Might just be an old rumor though.

How else do you expect them to close their IFR flight plan from a farmer’s field?
