From what I hear tell, SWA has it pretty good in this regard. Maybe cause all their trips seem to be 3 days it makes it easier to plug and play, dunno. The last part is true. 3-days are the easiest currency to work with in our trip-trading systems and are the majority of what scheduling builds. One of the recent articles from SWAPA had the 2018 breakdown as 9.5% turns, 11.5% 2-days, 64.9% 3-days and 14.1% 4-days (rounded). The 3-day number is actually down a bit, but the 1- and 2-day numbers are up. I've found the 4-day trips to be the hardest to manipulate when tweaking my schedule. However, completely dropping trips (you giving back to the company) is impossible except for mil leave, and vacation drops. Giving away trips (someone else taking a trip from you) is a bit easier, but is highly dependent on the quality of the schedule you were able to bid (weekdays, 3-days, start time, commutability, etc). A lot of guys try to maximize their schedules by "clearing their board" and picking up stuff that pays better and/or playing the premium game - which hasn't been too great lately. But again, success with that is highly dependent on seniority. Just my perspective three years in and coming up on 50% seniority in seat/base.

Shocked.

Every now and then I start to feel guilty about being non-current and/or NMR and think about going in to the unit to fly a local. Then I read shit like this and decide it’s just easier to go fly a Caribbean turn. From what I’ve heard, this new C-17 Vol 1 is going to be an abortion on the Guard/Reserve side of the house.

Worth repeating. Delta won’t ask to see your PT scores.

Screen shot or it never happened. I'm sure leadership was more than happy to sink your ass. I say that with all of the best intentions. If I were to guess, the guys who signed that LOA had minimal experience in the 17. Just a guess based on the WG and OG CC's I had in AMC/AETC.

Fine then... post Mike’s PRF. I’m seriously going to need to plagiarize it. Joking aside, I’m sorry I misunderstood your post. If a guy doesn’t want to do it then no one should make him do it. If it’s half-assed he has no one to blame but himself. As a supervisor you need to make that clear to Mike. This isn’t a new game where the ratee writes his own OPR/PRF/RIF paperwork.

Post your PRF. We’d all be happy to give our thoughts. And I’ll likely steal a couple of lines in a couple of years because no one in the Guard seems to fact-check this shit.

I'm glad to see Coningsby is on this...

Let us know the day and time of said party. I probably won't be there but there's a $50-spot on the GoFundMe for it. Crowdsource it if that's a more palatable term. Either way, I'd like to contribute. Promotion parties in my Guard unit are seemingly non-existent so I'm all for a de-promotion party.

I don’t get it...

Fucking awesome.

Mission Accomplished.

Last four of your SSN. Oh wait... wrong organization.

The reason that the Lt’s are jaded is because all of their true mentors are bailing for the airlines at their first opportunity then reporting home about how stress-free their lives now are. Not because of what they are reading on BODN.

In addition, it seems DFAS has stopped sending me monthly e-mails telling me I need to opt out of the new retirement system for which I'm not even eligible. That leaves even more space in my inbox for CGOC dumbfuckery (again - not eligible).

My bad. I thought the banner I saw on the Portal yesterday included Maj as well. Must have mis-read it.

So now June 5 is the big day? Duck, I don't know you, but I haven't given this much of a shit about someone's career since my days of 5 minute e-mail refreshes during the 2014 VSP. I've said it before, but every time I come on here and see this thread at the top, I check it hoping for some good news for you, brother. Keep up the good fight.

1,000 Retired Pilots Can Be Recalled to Active Duty

Is there a pencil patch for that? There's a red "Make Airlift Great Again" patch floating around. Wish I had one. -

OK, Huggy... what's your angle? Back to the U2? -
317 AW (Dyess) commander removed over ‘toxic environment’

Nope. Thankfully I guess I haven't. An OST in my neck of the woods is: "Hey OG (first name), you good if we go to KXYZ and grab some lunch? They've got that NDB circle we all need in order to green up for the semi since the sim is down for some secret squirrel upgrade that we will never need at this base..." If he says no... then I guess I pick up the equivalent to a "green slip" and go non-current in July... for an NDB circle. -

A quad chart puts exponentially more information on your standard PowerPoint slide - which is vital for every off-station mission. Thank you, Col Owens for not letting that bit of queep die like it should have. -

Even with some pre-VSP exec stink on me, I had the same question. Quick Google search quickly defined that piece of stupidity for me. When multiple PPT slides are to much to digest in one sitting... So that's a thing now, huh? -

I know there are plenty of boys and girls from his two tours at CHS who are ready to do the same. -
That’s another way to counteract torque and p-factor. Rudder input is just too much work.
