Top generals: Obama is 'purging the military'
B.M. replied to Springer's topic in General Discussion
I read what you wrote, and to paraphrase the Prez, "You didn't write that." There's a world of difference between being "asked to leave the military for breaking the employer/employee relationship," and being told "you can leave quietly and we won't make this an issue (by pressing charges, followed by a slam-dunk conviction), take your pension, and embarrass us all. For the good of the service, and the country, retire before we court martial your ass." And McChrystal didn't fall on his sword, he spoke his mind with a reporter. Big difference. I remember those days well. Years of trash-talking Billy at every turn, followed by 8 years of those (formerly contemptuous) officers reminding E's of their UCMJ responsibilities with regards to W. And now we're back to square 1, with those same O's now trash talking Obama. The circle of life continues... -

That sounds like an airtight case, Mr. Darrow. Let me know if you're going to test it, so I can grab some popcorn. Ps, I don't know if you're aware of this, but it says in the constitution that if you ask an undercover narc if he's a cop then he's required to tell you he is. I totally heard it from a friend of mine in prison. And it'll help you out next time you buy a shit dime bag before you post. -

[quote name="17D_guy" post="362177" timestamp="138292331 How bad are the briefings/CBT's for off-base driving?

Don't be like that, girl. I'm sure he lost your # or something.

Visiting during the day shouldn't be an issue, but there is a curfew restriction that folks have to be in their cells for lights out at midnight. It might be different for perm party, but you should look into it before making promises to your other half. Edit: And '2' for what Jarhead said. Off-base driver is a MUST!!!

Perhaps General Chang and his cohorts have taken to using reverse psychology on the crew dawgs to spread their message of assimilation: "Wearing your PT gear in accordance with AFI 36-2903 is so ghey", "Rated officers who aren't AAD complete by winging are sooooo kewl!", "Someone said I needed to complete my Info Assurance CBT so the squadron would be more green for the exercise and I was totally like ORLY?" Very tricky

I read the article you linked, which said the women hats are nicknamed 'Dan Dalys', because apparently some dude named Daly wore one like it. Then I looked up who Dan Daly was... https://badasshistory.com/daly.html Two-time MOH winner. During WWI, he yelled to his Marines, just before storming the machine gun nests that pinned his unit down, "Come on, you sons of bitches, do you want to live forever?" And that action earned him only the Navy Cross. I wouldn't mind wearing a hat worn by a B.A.M.F. like him.

Until pretty recently, the A3V KC-10 boom was a tremendous douchebag and was well known inside and outside our community for being a douche. This guy had been an evaluator for a long time, but he had a chip on his shoulder and no one checked him on it. Not saying your bud is the same type, but when "iPad charged to a certain percentage, rings, rags, scarves" become Q3 fodder it's natural to think in that direction. Q3s are for breaking bones, bending metal, and busting warnings and cautions, not for piddling stuff like that. Debrief item at best. If this guy had any sort of big picture we wouldn't be here talking about him. Besides, Q3s take up a shitload of time, who wants to go through that?

You know, Congress is arguing about important shit, and the public still thinks of them as buffoons. My supposed leaders are bitching about 69, sts, and other 7th grade bullshit... What a fine bunch of officers...

Our good friend Wikipedia says "The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is a branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the country's seven uniformed services. The Coast Guard is a maritime, military, multi-mission service unique among the U.S. military branches for having a maritime law enforcement mission (with jurisdiction in both domestic and international waters) and a federal regulatory agency mission as part of its mission set. It operates under the Department of Homeland Security during peacetime, and can be transferred to the Department of the Navy by the President at any time, or by Congress during time of war." "I'm not saying your mother's a whore... I'm just saying she has sex with lots of people for money!" In between asking your question you threw out a lot of insults; I'm not a smart man, but I'm pretty certain that's what swanee was referring to.

Live in Fairfield/Vacaville if you don't like nightlife, or you're a sober, responsible, and boring 23 year old who loves that his neighbors are ALL members of the extended Air Force family. Vallejo/Suisun if having bars on your windows helps you sleep at night. (Go anywhere else) Live in Davis if you regret having graduated college so soon. Cool place, but the scene gets old. Fast. Live in SAC if you want quiet in the week and a decent party on the weekend. Closer to the snow, and lots of outdoor activities nearby. Same for Walnut Creek, but much closer to all the to-dos of the Bay area. Live in SF when it dawns on you that gorgeous women come here from all over the world!!! Easy pickings, especially if you're straight, not-a-hipster, and you don't regale everyone with your pilot training anecdotes. Different vibes in every district, and no matter your tastes there's a place here you can call home. For the sober moments the culture is amazing, the sights are unbelievable, and the chances of you ever living in as cosmopolitan of a city as this (with no responsibilities) are slim-to-none. If that doesn't sound good to you, or if you're really itching to get through that long netflix/hulu queue... Enjoy Fairfield/Vacaville.

Nope. That was perfect. You did say "going away", implying they are "here" and would soon be "gone". I just didn't see how anything was "going away", as your space-A privelages are "here" and will remain "here". I guess people will have to summon the courage to fly an AMC aircraft, or simply fly one of the other contract flights as they're not all "going away".
-
Translation of article: "95% of space-A travel is on commercial contract aircraft. They'll fly less as budgets draw down. We won't give space-A benefits to those who've never had the privelage, which will hopefully minimize the drawdown pain to those who already have the benefit." Perhaps I'm missing something, but how is this a "good deal going away"?
-
Nope. It was on purpose. People needing an AFI/reg/whatever reference to call someone out for being a douchebag = Seriously misplaced priorities and/or testicles.
-
Wow. America's Air Force inaction. I'm sure the Israelis would do well to emulate this style of leadership/swag.
-
Think "F-15C". At least the -22 still has a demo team.

Outstanding point -- it matters not which engine is which. I should've corrected his punctuation and grammar instead. Now, THAT'S important!
-
Well played! Minor point, the tail engine is #2, not 3.
-
Sad. There's always the next deployment.
-
LOL!!!! Tankers + clouds + tail numbers = Classic, yet fresh!

No love lost for your locale... Speaking of which, you (fighter) guys get around to restoring the barrier to it's former shame?

McGuire sounds like it might be a great choice: The sandbox won't go away with the A-stan drawdown, and your wife will need all the support she can get with you being away as often as you WILL be. Good luck!
