From a benefit vs. risk comparison I just cannot come up with any metric that would make this a good idea. A non AR 777 can go 14 plus hours and that is an awful experience. Who the F wants to sit in a 737 for 18 plus hours?

I was just closing up my aircraft on the ramp at SJC when I saw them go by. Looked good.

ATC will not route civilian IFR traffic through and active MOA. VFR traffic including those receiving flight following are free to do as they please. ATC might advise you that you are traversing an active MOA when VFR but they are not required to provide separation.

Same experience here. Relatively painless. Had a question about the paperwork. Email was answered within an hour.

No expert but I am pretty certain the FMC and the IFE system never speak to each other. Could be wrong though. Going to talk to our avionics people Monday and see what they have to say.

Harrison Ford Successfully Lands Malfunctioning Aircraft

Couple moths ago a small plane came to the same grief on a local golf course also situated right off the end of a runway. Sole occupant not really injured. Emergency crews got there and secured the area for investigation. I am told that after a couple days of waiting with no investigation the golf course cut the wings off and moved the airplane out of the way. -
Words fail me. Why do I think they will end up being used for other than the intended purpose? https://www.iflscience.com/technology/automatic-sperm-extractor-introduced-chinese-hospital

Surprisingly not much. I did an empty flight the other day and was off in around 2500'. With 24K motors You can get off a 5000' strip at near max gross.

The Feds put this out in January. After years of saying use the automation use the automation use the automation, they are now saying hand fly every now and then. https://www.faa.gov/other_visit/aviation_industry/airline_operators/airline_safety/safo/all_safos/media/2013/SAFO13002.pdf

Posted here for two reasons. It's about beer, this thread should never slip off the first page. I have tried to convince friends to prank me this way but so far the selfish bastards have not come through. https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=943_1379508455

Take a look at WingX Pro. https://www.hiltonsoftware.com/. I have Foreflight on my iPad but a couple guys locally have WingX and it seems to be a good product too.

I freely admit to not liking small children all that much but that is just uncalled for. She needs a swift kick in the vag.

The dude at 3:40 who shoots himself. Somewhere in there he says he called his parents first. All I can think of is mall ninja.

That wouldn't be the one from O61 Cameron Park would it? Didn't know he had it up for sale. I went for a ride with him a couple months back doing the same thing. Down low and slow out in the breeze. What a kick in the pants.

A solid pre-purchase inspection is a must. Most of the type clubs can recommend maintenance shops that are familiar with the type to do a pre-purchase. You can gauge the level of pre-purchase inspection required by looking through the log books if you are familiar enough with the general maintenance requirements. When I bought my airplane (Super Decathlon) I found that it had been back to the factory four years prior for complete overhaul including new wings and the following year had everything firewall forward overhauled. Based on that information I was comfortable with finding a local mechanic who was familiar with fabric aircraft to conduct a pre-purchase. A buddy was looking to purchase a T-210 and the aircraft he wanted had been sitting for a while. He contacted the Cessna Pilot's Association and they pointed him towards a reputable shop near the seller that was familiar with T-210s. He did something which I thought was quite clever. He agreed to pay the cost of an annual inspection while the seller agreed to pay for all the squawks discovered during the inspection. It worked out well. The standard inspection at the time was around $1800 but the squawk list totaled well over $6000. Decide on a type and start shopping for insurance. You will find that anything with multi motors and/or six seats will have some pretty high liability premiums. Turbos are nice but you can pretty much guarantee that you will be doing a top overhaul at mid life. Avionics are sort of like a house with a remodeled kitchen. It will probably be cheaper and a whole lot easier in the long run if you buy something that already has been upgraded. Same holds true for cosmetics (paint and interior).

If he is at 9 and I am at 7 doing 250 knots how is he passing me? Approach. Airline 123 reduce speed to 200 indicated.
