Yes all the aircrew dorms have fridges, as for TV's they all should have some kind of TV. The only ones that didn't have tv's in them were the transient aircrew trailers. But those had fridges.

I have an MTAC for my XD45. I love it. They may cost a little more than the Crossbreed's but being able to change out the body for a different gun is nice. So you get one holster and then you can buy different bodies for all your guns instead of having to buy separate holsters for all of your guns. Plus Comp-Tac offers a mil discount as well.

Yeah it's called YoYo's. I have seen her there working on Fri nights.

Here is a pic from the KSAT website. Looks like the plane is mostly intact from the looks of the pic. Will be very interesting to hear about this at some point.

M2 glad that you liked it. Sorry you had some issues with it. All the ones that I have shot had zero issues. But is a blast to shoot through that much ammo and be so cheap. I have thought about getting one of the purpose build AR-15/22's just for that part. Plus It would give me a reason to do some modding on my 10/22 as well.

M2, I have shot a couple of my buddies GSG-5's and they were a blast. One had the collapsing stock and another was fixed. I think that they said that you could get some air soft hardware that would fit it as well. For that price I would snag it. Especially since you can shoot 22 all day long and have a blast with it.

You guys mentioned that you all had UPT pushes on your OPR's. I never had a push on my OPR for UPT and I got picked up. I just had on my 215 why I would be a good choice and what I bring from my experiences. I don't see why its not a bad thing to have it, but if you do I would say that you better be the top 2 LT or shit hot at your job. But like everybody else has said, be the best in your job and don't piss people off to try to get what you want.

Whats the funniest thing you've heard over the radio?
cragspider replied to Gravedigger's topic in Squadron Bar
Ok everybody is familiar with the British or Aussie sounding guy over at Bahrain center who works the sector towards Kuwait. Well we were transiting his airspace a couple of days ago and this is what we heard go on. Bahrain center - Indian flight ### (you know really Bad Engrish) Indian flight ### - no reply x4 Bahrain center - Indian flight ### I have been calling you 4 times, if I had wanted to be ignored I would have stayed home today. -
Well this will be interesting how the new "gun" policy plays out. M2 your right about one thing, the people who want to commit the crimes will do it anyway. Just look at VT, Columbine, Ft. Hood, and any other mass shooting in a "Gun Free" zone. All it does is hurt the Law-abiding members who want to carry once they leave base. I was hoping to be able to at least carry to and from the base housing once I move to Laughlin this summer. But the way this looks I doubt that will happen now.

Yeah that's the North range. Just make sure you go on a weekend first to get your membership. I have been told that Jones county sheriffs will stop by during the week if they hear the guns to check membership. But haven't been during the week. Maybe once I get back I will head out there during the day.

Since everybody is putting in inputs to good ranges located near bases I will throw out that the Abilene Gun Club has a good deal for military members. $35 for the year for the whole family. Plus if you have family that comes in they get in for free. Has to pistol bays, and numerous back stops for the rifle. Open during the weekend and you get the combo for the gate so you can go during the week if you want. M2, I have had good luck with the 550 count boxes of Federal and Winchester. Some jam but I think its do to the fact that I'm shooting fast.

On a different gun note. I found out the other day while researching the carry laws for Tn, that if your active military and your not stationed in Tn your carry permit is good till you separate. You don't even need to take the class if you have prof that you have completed at least a 4 hour military gun class. Now only if Tx would do something like this then I wouldn't have to get two permits.

If your looking for some help on the gouge, you can checkout AFdriver.com ,that's where I got the cliffs notes from.

I carry mine at about the 3:30 to 4 o'clock position, in a Comp-Tac Minotaur. It is very comfortable and if I want to carry a different gun I either just get a different body for it, or just get the same type of gun.

Saw this on Jimmy Kimmel the other night about Ricky Martin, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq9fXyG4kWQ&feature=channel

I'm glad that I could help you out with finding a FFL. Yes there are other ranges in Abilene, obviously ABI indoor is the only indoor range here. They do offer a mil/fire/police discount and yearly memberships. There is the North side gun range/club off East lake rd. Its a club so you have to pay a membership fee, but if your mil then its $35 for a year and its good for the whole family. They have two pistol bays and varying rifle ranges from 25-250 yards. The range master is there on the weekends and they give you the combo once you pay so you can go during the week as well. There typically is a couple of guys from my squadron that meet up on sat or sun for some fun. There is also a skeet/trap/sporting clay course on the south side next to Kirby Lake.

I have used West Tx game Trail when I got my XD. It was a $20 transfer. Also alot of my co-workers have used Patriot Gun works. Abilene Indoor will charge you at least 20 but just call to check on that. Just ahead up on them, they will charge you a 10% Fee if you ship guns from CDN to them. There are a few shops in the area. We have Patriot, which they are a small shop and deal a lot of used handguns. You have Abilene Indoor Gun range, they have a decent selection and you can try to talk them down. There is Jerry's Jun shop out side of town past the Airport, he has a good selection of everything. There are the pawn shops around town as well. If you into reloading then check out B&B Pawn on S. 3rd and Butternut, they have an ok selection as well. But unfortunately nobody in this town thinks that they have to lower their prices at all at be competitive. I will look but end up buying online unless I can get them to lower the price. Also the gun shows here are interesting to go to, most if not all the guns are over priced and they still try to tell you to get them while you still can be for they are outlawed. But there normally is a good selection of accessories and other stuff there. Hope that this helps.

On a different note, I got back form a TDY today and there was a letter from the TX Department of Public Safety with my CHL in it. Now time to go do the wally world run soon.

Yeah that's the only down side to having a gun that shoots 380. But I have a bersa thunder and it's a good little gun. I'm thinking that the next pistol that I might get will be something in the 9mm range. XDsc maybe I duno need to do some looking out there for the smaller sized 9s out there for summer carry.
-
Very nice M2. Well I finally found some 380 here this past weekend. Surprisingly it was a at pawn shop. They had apparently gotten in a couple of cases of it. But it was on the high end of what I wanted to pay for it so I only got a box. But I did find some online that was going for 19.99 a box. Now only if wally world would get in some more white box in 45. or get some blazer in for a good price.

Well the other mx guy in the article is a eng in my unit. From what he said that Mr Lucero went into the army to fly helo's now. Be it as a WO or a O I didn't ask to much about it. But thats all I know about that.

Well I was going to say that yes you can travel with the gun in easy reach but it has to be concealed in the car. But I would check out usacarry.com for some more help on Tx carry laws. Here is a link to the Tx 2007-2008 law book, which is the Tx concealed handgun laws and selected statutes which is what they give us when we take the Tx CHL class. I hope that this helps, I got some of this info off of my CHL instructors website from his links page. Just watch out for the 30.06 sign it the sign that business have to post to keep us from carrying there. Welcome to Tx.

Im about to go out and get 2 box's of Corbon here in LR for 31 each. I know its a little pricey but its in stock and I need a few boxes. Going to take the gun out to the range for the first time to shoot a 100 rounds through it and then a few of the Corbon's to make sure that it doesn't have any issues with it. Then carry the rest. I saw that post over at xd-talk about the +P's and from what they were saying + Springfield even said that it can take it, it shouldn't be a problem. I just wouldn't go shooting a lot of them more cause of the price than putting more wear on the gun.
-
I got my XD-45 last fri. Here are some pics of it and my Bersa 380. M2, what holster do you use to carry your XD? and what do you recommend to carry with? I was looking at Corbon, DPX and some others at a store here in LR. The price was the same on them all, and some were +P's. I know that the +P are a hotter load and have more energy behind them. Brick, I would look into getting a Knoxx breachersgrip stock. A couple of guys in my squadron have them and they say its stupid easy to shot. I have seen it and its great.

I noticed that after I bought it that it wasn't showing up on the site. But I paid 505, it was listed for 485 as the cash price. they charge a 3% fee for CC. Apparently you can finance the guns through them and get the cash price. I was going to get the normal all black but I need some bling in my collection for now. The only thing with there police side is that they need a copy of your id to verify that you get the better prices.
