Gouge Request: How to log tax free months from last year
cragspider replied to a topic in General Discussion
This exact thing. They will give you a corrected W2 and you’d have to refile. -
I know one who asked to be passed over to get out got what they wanted. Plus they already have things lined up.
-
Duck congrats and good luck. Thanks for all the info you kept pushing out here for the group. You can make that 2.
-
Duck, thanks for keeping us informed with some of this info. At least someone is trying to get the word out. Would like to know what the “MAJCOM Commander Action” was.
-
You know as funny as that is, you’re probably right with that. Sad as it would be wouldn’t surprise me if they pulled some stunt like this as well.
-
Duck much appreciated and I agree that they should just fess up that they messed up and will fix it next time. 17D, now that looks familiar from what was posted earlier. So if we can’t trust our SR to pick the people who they think should be promoted then how can we expect them to pick the people who should go to school now?
-
So what is the truth behind the delay? I’m out on much needed leave from the grind of this place we call work right now.
-
Thanks for confirming that. Now did you ask them why they took so long to get this out? Or why didn’t they do a better job of communicating the delays? (Insert eye roll emoji here ahaha) but thanks. I know you are ready to get on with this as I suspect most of us are.
-
That would be absolutely hilarious if this did get Mad Dog’s attention and he un f’s this thing much to the dismay of the HAF, or get to the bottom of all this.

Which page is this? I’d love to see the comments.

317 AW (Dyess) commander removed over ‘toxic environment’
cragspider replied to spaceman's topic in General Discussion
For that breadth of experience they want. But yes changing airframes is cool but you need to go back to where you started so you can command there. So far in my time I’ve had 2 CC’s who where Phoenix guys, one was a herk guy first and he was a good commander from my point of view who loved the mission and knew what it was about. While the other was a tanker guy who came in and learned it midway through and wasn’t bad. But now he is back in the tanker world. I’ve had others who came into it from a white jet first and did fine in the mission but they left things to be desired on the command side. But does all the experience make them better who knows. -
I don’t see why we can’t make this our own and be different enough from the Army. Like wearing the flag on our left sleeve, I also don’t see anything about where we are putting our wings? Thankfully we can wear our tan boots and shirts for a little while at least.

I won’t argue with that. I’ve has some really good commanders and some really shitty ones. Sadly the good ones are few and far between some days. We shall see how it turns out with the 04-06 yg soon. I’d also agree that the 317th should have never been made a wing. -

It’s about time AMC realize that they should stop putting non Herk guys in charge info Herk units. -
So true. I don’t know how many people talked bad about going to Dyess back in the day for the herks. I loved it and the bros I flew with. It was a good bastion of tac flying for a while. But you make what you want of the assignment.

While I did enjoy some of his earlier work and photos. Most of the stuff he post now isn’t great or shouldn’t be posted due to opsec stuff.
-
Duck I know you have more skin in this game than I do. But thanks for reaching out. The lack of news from this doesn’t surprise me at all. I think you’re correct that it will be a little while longer before they get the info out. Somehow I’m not surprised by this whole thing anyway and that they would mess it up and loose face with the masses.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
cragspider replied to Toro's topic in General Discussion
Yeah that’s my ?, is a a month or a year. Cause it wouldn’t surprise me if they made it 6k a year. But an extra 6k a month would be nice. -
I heard the the 09 LAF has finally been reported into OSD today. I haven’t checked myself since I’m off work today but got a text from a bro with that info.
-
You can either get the converter or you can call Bose and get a whole new cord or the headset. I did the later and it’s been nice. But I’ve know guys who did the former and they said it wasn’t a problem.

Pilot Shortage Deepens, USAF is SCREWED.
cragspider replied to ClearedHot's topic in General Discussion
No they aren’t. The recat board is for folks who have been out of their primary mws for a long time or who have been in for 13 years or longer. Plus they have changed the way they are doing recats if I understood the functional correctly. This board is more of a way to look at guys who want to stay. But then again can we really trust A1 anymore? -

The only thing I can see is that they slow down the Alpha tour returnees when they figure this out. Hell I’ve straight up asked the RPA functional if they are even thinking about what to do when all the initial 18x folks start punching which they aren’t even thinking about that yet. The only saving grace is that they have told all the upt directs they will be gone by the end of 19. -

This was posted over at TPN Air Force May Approve Enlisted Pilots for First Time in 75 Years . I find it funny that our leaders still think we have a production problem when it’s a retention problem. Oh well this train will keep on chugging off the tracks until they finally realize that producing more will not help the problem. -
I just find this comical now. They did something similar with the 06 yg and kept rolling it back over 2 months. Duck I think they know how bad you want out and are going to keep you for as long as they can. But I do understand how frustrating this can be for folks who are planning on getting out and may already have jobs lined up. Who really knows what is going on with AFPC and those who are making these types of decisions. It just one more reason why they have lost the faith of the troops.

I always viewed the ELP as an energy management maneuver, which is what it is. It is also a judgment test as well as stick and rudder skills. Sad that they want to take that out.
