  1. It was a C-17 to Travis and there were two T-1 FAIPs edit: quote
  2. On a positive note this week, Laughlin began the renovation of YoYo's bar...looks promising.
  3. Now it's $3 for non-members and you get a different color wristband so all the leadership can give you shit about it...lovely. Our drop night they tried to stiff us out of 2 kegs we had paid for by claiming we canceled the order. After we shoved the contract in their face they finally brought out the beer. $160 for a keg of piss beer, YGBFSM! Don't even get me started on the graduation dinners. The place is a rip off and the service sucks. Word has it they're working on a big remodel so maybe things will improve. IMHO you need to improve your product first and then people will come. Edit: Spelling

  5. Haha! This wouldn't be the same Saudi kid who lit up an airmen (and his supervisor) at the front gate for not saluting him?
  6. What about the ops tempo for ACs, MCs, and U-28s? I assume it's high but I haven't heard anything specific
  7. So here's a question...with the F-35 supposedly dropping out of UPT in the next 3ish years, what impact would that have on the 38 drops and class sizes? I would think at some point the wave has to go back up, it's not going to be a 1 for 1 trade of pilots out of vipers and hogs and such into the 35, guys are bound to retire, etc. In the past few years we've been dropping only a handful of guys to the pointy noses, is there any chance of that scaling back up or is this probably going to be the norm until skynet and the RPAs take over.
  8. Ahh "The People's Republic of Boulder"...I'm sure the community support there is top notch
  9. Highly doubt that...unless it's a brand new thing
  10. Too big to fail...
  11. I had LASIK done in ROTC back in 2007 prior to applying for a pilot slot. Vision was pretty bad, not even good enough for nav. It worked like a charm and post op discomfort was minor. I did the surgery over the summer so it wouldn't interfere with school. I had to go back to the doc on a regular basis to get vision checks for the eventual Brooks visit but that was the only inconvenience. I was the second ROTC guy to go through brooks with LASIK and had no issues. I highly recommend LASIK over PRK due to the speedy healing time. I've also had no issues with night vision or anything like that. Anyhow, as far as I know it doesn't matter if you are contracted or not. I was contracted but I still needed a year between the surgery date and my Brooks physical. I made the timing work because I took an extra semester to finish my degree, thus bumping me into the next fiscal year for pilot slots.
