  1. That's procedure. Loadmaster's Report - "IN THE BUNK WITH A FAT CHICK" (LM) After Takeoff Checklist - "COMPLETED" (PM)
  2. Wow. Sounds like a world of difference since the last time I was there. Are the transient "dorms" still a bunch of leaky tents, or have they put up something better?
  3. This is like the "I love cats" lady. Did either one of them even LOOK at what they had just created before hitting send?
  4. At Laughlin we had an article about "T-1A Jawhawks" assigned to the "47th Fighter Training Wing" along with a picture of the FTW/CC cutting (yet another) ribbon somewhere.
  5. Whoah...Paparazzi! Quick, use the back door!
  6. Unless it's extra HDTVs in the lobby to infinitely loop PPT slides that nobody looks at. Plenty of money for that, apparently. You'd think those effing things were an MWS.
  7. Speaking of WTF...nunya, what the ###### is going on in your avatar pic?
  8. Yes, but the climate is not as nice as it has been in recent years.
  9. Saw this one in a movie theater, right before the previews started. Somebody sarcastically whispered "dude, they're talking about pu$$y"...lucky guess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxW_ZCd64tg
  10. ...or they'll take the option of bringing 200 more lbs of fuel instead.
  11. At XL last year, we had an ANG guy (non-prior) turn 30 about a week into Phase II.
  12. I hope he was kidding. O-3Es are supposed to be the cool guys.
  13. Maybe he just gets a thrill out of tipping middle-age Asian ladies. I somehow doubt there any many opportunities to do so off-post in Southern Arizona.
  14. Old, but good. It's been around a long time, but I don't know where it came from.
  15. They still had the AeroClub (entirely 172s and a T-41 or two, at the time), Super Cubs and the Twin Otter. I made it a point to only fly on Sunday mornings...no tower, no chutes, no gliders.
  16. If he had just worn sloppy ABUs, a gold oak leaf and a medical badge, nobody would have paid him any mind. But no...he just had to go in service dress as a 2*
  17. I'm still as baffled as ever about why this is such a BFD. Having SA and being polite is like 99% of it, but I guess it's a little too much to ask of some people.
  18. XL from what I remember... -38s... 2x F-16 to Luke 2x F-15E to SJ 1x T-6 1x NSA to Cannon Tones... 2x C-17 to Charleston 1x KC-10 to ??? 2x C-5 to ??? 4x NSA to Cannon 1x T-1 1x T-6 2x KC-135 to ???
  19. Could be the same reason that there are more R44s in the Springs than there are R22s. The DA-20 works well enough for IFS, but I wouldn't hold high hopes for its performance at USAFA. KAFF is a couple thousand feet higher than KPUB, and in the summer the density altitude sometimes goes OVER 9000 (true story). Just speculating, though.
  20. Clearly a sci-fi setting. There's no way we'd get away with having hawt pin-ups all over the bar like that. And wtf is that one guy doing...pointing with his finger? Who's the jackass who put his beer down on the pool table? The only accurate part of this picture? Some of them are wearing reflective belts.
  21. Yeah, sometimes we'd see them at the DFAC on ISAF bases. They definitely seemed of the "speak softly and carry a big stick" persuasion to me.
  22. Ah...now we get to the real motivation for the repeal of DADT.
  23. Fair 'nough. I have a feeling that between the 6 of us and the 4x KC-135 dudes (from XL alone), we're going to keep that Applebee's afloat well into FY12.
  24. I got one of the 6 C-17s that dropped at XL last week...not sure if that spike is part of the ramp-up that CHS17 was referring to. Anyways, I tried to join the C-17 Aircrew Study Group using the instructions on this page, but the Portal said that the CoP had been disabled. Something about it not being in compliance. Any idea how long it's been down, and if/when it's going to be available again? Thanks for any help/info you can offer.
  25. Not knowing when you're supposed to get promoted is kind of like not knowing when your mortgage payment is due, or when your insurance expires, or when your next flight physical is supposed to be. It's so simple, takes so little effort...but is kind of important.
