That makes sense in light of the laws of supply and demand. I've just never looked at the cost of anything in the Class III category.

$250k? Did I read that correctly? It seems like an awesome weapon from the article M2 posted, but I don't know if it's that good. You could probably find an old Russian tank for less... I would love to see some cops with belt fed weaponry, chasing the VC through the streets of downtown Chicago.
  4. That's the first thing I thought of, too. "Honest, Officer, I haven't had anything to drink! A 150 ton whale did it!" And the officer replies, "Sure it did, son."
  5. Speaking of WTF, I'm sure that's exactly what this dude said when a behemoth-esque sea creature had a "touching" encounter with said gentleman's boat. Mr. Yacht, meet Mr. Whale: owned

Just saw it yesterday. It was one of the most convoluted, multilayered, enigmatic gems I've had the pleasure of witnessing. If Timothy Leary and M.C. Escher conceived a lovechild during a two week long acid bender, this movie would be their progeny. Just make sure you're not scheduled for a drug test after you watch it.

Does anyone have info or first hand experience with the Stoner 63a1? I saw a brief snippet about the thing on the Military channel; it seemed like it might have been better than the M16, but it didn't have enough comparative info to completely convince me.
  8. You're entitled to bitterness on the subject. As far as the Tops in Blue are concerned, this is not a budgetary issue; it's an issue of untold embarrassment for the Air Force. I wouldn't be opposed to the AF taking 10 times the amount of funds it costs to run TIB and putting that towards destroying every bit of evidence that TIB ever existed. That would include, but not be limited to, the eradication of human memories. Tax dollars well spent.

Georgia Arms. They've usually got the most competitive prices you can find. I've always been pleased with their products. I haven't ordered online from them, but my buddy has. He got his stuff without a hitch.
  10. And then this Uh okay. That's like saying Hillary Clinton doesn't meet with foreign dignitaries for diplomatic reasons. The Muslim world needs to be the group reaching out to the rest of us; not the other way around. When I say reaching out, I don't mean in the form of IEDs and suicide bombings.

I haven't shot the 5.7; but it definitely feels nice, like you said. I've got the 9mm MP, and I love it. Super fun to shoot. Based on the ammo alone, I would go with the S&W. You can never, never, never go wrong with a .45. The 5.7 is still kind of an obscure round, and ammo may be difficult to come by down the road. The .45, however, will always be accessible. Not to mention you'll probably always pay a premium for the 5.7, making the .45 cheaper to shoot. On top of that, the 5.7 isn't even as big as a .22 (at least in diameter). Maybe you should just get a Kimber. Then shell out the extra cash for the .17 HMR conversion...Or maybe I'm thinking I should do that. Either way it's some food for thought.
  12. It seems to me that it would be self induced rape for a woman to stick that massive, spiked apparatus into her yahoo...
  13. The only thing that "full" regulation (because it's already heavily regulated) will do is allow the airline with the most lobbying power to sit on the throne of the industry. Legitimate competition in the market place rewards the consumer, no matter what field is being discussed.
  14. I didn't see it posted yet, but if it has been, it's worth mentioning twice:The Maneuver Warfare Handbook. The information is priceless. Also, On Killing by Lt Col Dave Grossman. An interesting take on the psychological ramifications of combat.
