    For guard guys, can you tell me the process/timeline for date of rank and pay(or backpay). For example, once the PV has been approved by SecDef, is that your new DOR? After that it has to be passed on to the National Guard Bureau? How long does that process usually take? Is it after the NGB approves it that you actually start getting paid at new rank? Thanks

    I realize that Guard units may have a different answer to this question, but for the AFRC units out there: How many/what percentage of the LtCs are in your unit were promoted PV? Thanks.

    Unmasking advanced education for promotions has always seemed like a bad idea to me. I finally decided to write an op-ed on the subject and it got picked up by the Baltimore Sun. I am wondering if anyone really thinks this policy is good for the Air Force and why it has not been changed if almost everyone I know thinks it's an abomination.
