Budapest, Hungary - Marriott (on the river) is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are immaculate and the service is outstanding. Most rooms look out over the Danube and upon the Royal Palace. As far as eats, I ate at many places and did not find a single bad one. You will eat like a king and the eating is cheap. If you're paying more than $1 for a beer or $10 for dinner even at the finest restaurant in town(complete with tuxedoed staff and four piece chamber music), you're being taken. A caution about the Metro in Budapest. A new ticket is required to be validated everytime you change trains. There are no gates or signs, you just have to know. If you get caught without the proper tickets (which we did), it's a hefty fine, and pleading ignorance does no good.
