Nice job Coug -- somebody representin the P-N-W.

Rest of the NW's finest:

Full Sail Amber

Bridgeport IPA

Mactarnahan's Scottish

Pyramid Hef (Apricot is too fruity...in all respects)

Rainier (who doesn't need a little Vitamin R on a hot day?)

Red Hook ESB (in my hand right now)

Tribute to the zoo:

Breckenridge Avalanche

Laughing Lab

1000 times better at the actual brewery:

Shiner Bock (seriously, make the trip. It rocks)

Don't miss at the Ramstein Class VI:

1878

Perminator

To each his own... I admire those with strong convinctions and sense enough to honor a man's own choice of beverage. Even Fat Tire. Or Strongbow. But not Zima.

If you've done the Oktoberfest thing and spent some time in English pubs, your next stop should be Belgium. So many incredible beers there. I'm at the point now where I hate returning to the states just because of the lack of great beers.

Every once in a while the Dyess Class Six gets a small shipment of ESB in...for a short time I forget I'm in West Texas.

"Grain Belt is a Schell's product (using the original recipe) now, in case you didn't know. Had a great tour of the brewery in New Ulm last summer."

Nanook, I never knew that. I'll have to check out that brewery when I get back home sometime. Was there free brew included in the tour?

I was at SHAPE for three years and unfortunately, I found the Belgians violate Beaver's #1 rule of not fruiting the beer too often. But I also did four years in Germany and two in the UK, so maybe I was spoiled...

Anyone here ever had Bishops Finger (ahem)? Fine English ale.

You mean this one :flipoff: ? lol all the same I will keep all my fingers..

When the money is tight, Ill Grab PBR or Miller High Life

Since money usually is tight my beer of choice is Miller Lite (always wondered why they don't spell it Light like everyone else)

Favorite all time Beer:

Labatt Blue Lite (extremely rare to find in Tampa, FL now)

Labatt Blue

Yuengling

Bourbon Cask Ale (did anyone try this in the winter season? it was amazing!)

As far as Fat tire only time I had it was in Vegas for free at the casinos, I thought it was pretty good myself

Worst Beers:

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, for some reason it just tastes off to me I've given it a few chances

Guinness, only way I can thoroughly enjoy this beer is doing a car bomb (thats a shot of Jameson's and Baileys dropped in a pint and chugged for those not in the know)

Thats all I got to say, I'm very open to expanding my Alcohol horizons all the time willing to try a new beer that is recommended (just tried Tecate for the first time last night wasn't disappointed), I frequent this bar called Old Chicago, where they pride themselves on their variety of beer, and they have this World beer tour where every different beer you have counts as a point and you get prizes along the way and stuff its cheesy but its marketing genius!

I hate to be the alcohol equivalent of the internet grammar and spelling police, but can you guys stop calling stouts, bitters and lagers by that most useless of names, 'beer'?!

This ain't wine, granted, but a little respect for something like Guinness (it's an Irish stout, not a beer!), would be appreciated.

Hoegaarden

John Smith's

And Steve knows about this, or at least he should....the Cambridge Beer Festival. Over 130 REAL Ales, all the cider seahound can drink (by the way, strongbow is for chavs...pick up a magners...but cider is still crap in the end), and it lasts a week long. That week was the death of me when I was stationed at Mildenhall. God I loved that week.

I am ashamed to admit that despite living in Cambridge for all of my adult life, I have never been. 130 brews you say? I'll be there this year!

Man, I saw the title of this thread and thought somehow this tribute would have made it in here.

Favorite beer - anything served in a liter-sized glass, especially if it's served here -

Big 2 on that one. That was one of the best nights of my life...I think...well at least it looked like it from the pictures. Nothing like being in the middle of a city you've never been to and have no clue where your hotel is....and you can't walk. I can't wait to go again.

Brewdog,

Absolutely, as of summer '06. Try whatever they have as the seasonal. I walked out with 3 cases, and I live here. Going back this summer for another camping expedition.

I'm surprised that no one has listed Budweiser. I thought that it was the King of Beers?

Actually, Budwar, the Czech beer that Budweiser gets its name from, isn't that bad. I drank a lot of it when I was in the Slovak Republic many years ago. What is interesting is that it's called The Beer of Kings! They just reversed it for Bud...

Budwar is one of the finest brews from the Czech Republic. The brewery at České Budějovice is worth visiting if you're in country and the town is one of the nicest you'll see anywhere in Europe.

The shameful thing is the ongoing trademark dispute between Anheuser Busch and the originators of the Czech brew. Too bad A-B has so much muscle, because the Czech brew is far superior to anything A-B will ever produce.

For every cherry Lambic in Belgium, you can find a great ale like Chimay or Duval. There's one good function for a fruit beer: getting your girlfriend/wife drunk so that you can continue to enjoy your beer.

No doubt, Budvar is quite enjoyable, Bud is not...

But like many great European brews, I fear Budvar would be wasted on most Americans. Nothing personal, but your average American beer drinker prefers mass-brewed pisswater.

Miller has a new beer out called the "Chill" it is currently being test marketed in Florida, Texas, California and a few other states here and there. It is brewed with lime and salt taste in it (kind of knock off of the corona and lime). I tried one the other night, it has a different taste, I wont say it tasted bad, but you wont catch me drinking one of these in a public bar. Quite funny Miller has the advertisement for the man law to not fruit the beer then they come out with a beer that has the fruit in it to begin with.
