Sierra Hotel Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I refuse to get a CAC reader for my home computer.... So, I was wondering if anyone has a digital copy of Area Planning - 2 (AP/2). I have everything else on disk (gp, ap1 etc....). I have to do mission planning and need all the rules for flying in the NATS and so forth. If anyone has any good gouge, please PM me or post. Thanks, McLovin
Tone deaf Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I don't have an AP2 handy, but if you need NAT info, the procedures can also be found here along with a lot of other useful info: North Atlantic Procedures Enjoy
Toro Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 E-Pubs works just fine without a CAC reader. I assume you're talking about FLIP pubs, which now requires PKI.
Guest mjk5401 Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 (edited) Here is the attachment (ap2a) I copied it a couple of months ago. See message below for AP2ap2a.pdf Edited October 9, 2007 by mjk5401
Guest mjk5401 Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 This is expired, so it's good for reference only. It looks like as of 1 Oct you need a PKI / CAC. As far as the AP2, it's 13MB so I can't upload it on here. If you know how to shrink it down, I could email it to you. If it's something quick, I could look up the info and send it to you.
Guest C-21 Pilot Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 (edited) Here at McChord, as well as other C-17 bases, we accomplish E-Pubs via Thumbdrive...about 2 GB will do. Have everything I need and more on this. OGV gives guidance on what we can have on it.... no porn, music, etc. When there's a pub change, numerous ways to skin the cat, but you can accomplish pubs change in about 6.9 minutes. HUGE savings in paper/copying/manhours, etc... Only paper pub I'm required to carry (and pencil update) = handheld checklist, inflight guide, and fan-fold (minuture checklist = cruise, descent, beforetakeoff, etc.) Bottom line - no need for CAC or internet - which is key when you need a pub at FL 320. Here is what our E-Pubs Index looks like...Index.pdf Edited October 9, 2007 by C-21 Pilot
Guest Boom Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Most epubs don't require you to have a CAC card.
Sierra Hotel Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 Thanks for the info, I was talking about all the FLIP which now requires PKI to access the site as of 1 Oct 07. Thanks, McLovin

Guest ShineR Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 (edited) OR you could just buy a CAC reader because its cheap, easy, and makes sense. I don't know why you refuse to buy one... Edited October 10, 2007 by ShineR
amcflyboy Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 OR you could just buy a CAC reader because its cheap, easy, and makes sense. I don't know why you refuse to buy one... I concur. However, my base is in the process of issuing CAC readers to the Guardsmen only because they are hardly ever there to get the vital information that gets disseminated during the normal business hours.
