Compartment Syndrome

During my preparation for OTS Class 0804 I've developed a bad pain in my legs. I went to the doctor today and it looks like I may have "exercise induced" compartment syndrome. I have a few tests scheduled for Wednesday for a final diagnosis. It seems the only cure for this syndrome is surgery that has a 6-12 week recovery timeframe. The bad part is, OTS is only 12 weeks away. Is it possible to get my class date moved back if necessary? I'm sure I would need a waiver as well. Is this waiverable? Thoughts?

Shin splints or something else? I don't know if you can work through it by then or not...otherwise you may need to see if you can go through the next OTS class.

I have compartment syndrome, shit sucks. I opted out of the surgery. I just tough it out and ice-er down when i'm done working out. Oddly enough, in most circumstances, compartment syndrome may be induced from exercise, but is actually caused by an imbalance in the way your hips are set. Another neat fact is that compartment syndrome only effects the right leg or both, never just the left. (this might be backwards, it's one leg or the other, I donno).

I use some weird physical therapy exercises for my hips and it will go away for a few months. I'll see if I can dig up the cards that illustrate the exercises.

Ooo, also, if you're in the middle of a workout and it gets bad enough to where you think you need to stop(which it does to any doubters) try laying on your back and putting your legs in the air for a few minutes to let the blood drain from teh swollen muscles. You can also stretch out your fascia by standing on tennis balls barefoot and sort of rolling around on them.

I recently underwent a fasciatomy on both my lower legs to release two compartments in each leg. The surgery was to treat exercise induced chronic compartment syndrome. Assuming that my recovery is successful and I can run as well as the next guy, should I expect any kind of limitations or restrictions from having this procedure on my medical record? Thanks.
