Guest this123cant1 Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Does anyone know if there are any authorized ED medications you can be taking while you are on a rated flying status? Hoping to start a general discussion about this 'hush' 'hush' topic, so any info regarding this would be appreciated...

Guest awfltdoc Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 (edited) Viagra. and Levitra are not authorized. There is a 72 hour auto DNIF for taking Viagra. No wavier needed though, just need to see the flight doc. Sometimes Tricare is a pain in the butt about approving but I have always been able to get it for the aviator with a little work. Not anytime Viagra is taken I'm assuming... Edited November 21, 2007 by this123cant1
Guest awfltdoc Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 72 hour DNIF for a one time ground eval, correct? Not anytime Viagra is taken I'm assuming... Nope, each time its taken. I didn't have a fella dropping in to clinic each time it was taken though. I just made sure I told the aviator that there was a 72 hour DNIF each time (no paperwork) its taken and the aviator just made sure he didn't fly for 72 hours. After 72 hours he could fly (no paperwork needed). I personally didn't expect to be told when it was taken. Only if there were side effects or problems.
Scooter14 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I can see it now. Friday afternoon, 1530. "Hello?" "Hey, Doc, it's Lt Shmuckatelli! You see, I have a hot date with this blond I met at the base singles outing last month. She's really nice, great personality, she's a little on the heavy side, but that's the way I like 'em! She's really kinky. You know, she told me she wants me to wear a leather flying helmet with a propeller on top and she's going to..." "Ok, ok. DNIF for 72 hours. Got it, thanks."
