There was some aircraft damage but no injuries when an F-16 fighter from Luke Air Force Base slid off the runway at an auxiliary field south of Gila Bend, officials said.

The aviation accident, which posed no hazard to the public, occurred about 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, according to a base spokesman.

Two pilots, both assigned to the 61st Fighter Squadron at Luke, were aboard the aircraft, the spokesman said. They escaped unharmed but were taken to a clinic at the Glendale base for observation.

The incident and the extent of the damage to the F-16 remained under investigation Thursday.

So what's the chance it was one of the guys going to the F-22? That would suck.

Those dudes left Luke a month ago. They are F-16 complete.

If you're here at Luke, just use your appropriate channels to find out, if you have a need to know. What the MXG/CC commander said doesn't really have any place on this forum. PM me if you have any questions.

Understood, don't really need to know, just wondered if you had anymore info. You are right this is not the right place, I apologize.
