bronxbomber252 Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 COMACC issued a supporting policy when the AF policy came out. Don't know about any other MAJCOM. So until that is rescinded, it's technically still a problem in ACC. Figured I had to be missing something.
Combat Platypus Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 I do love that it took someone with balls enought to ask the question and the said missileer will never buy a drink in front of me if I knew who he/she was.
BigE Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 USAFE HQ = no blues Mondays, USAFE Unit CCs can set their own policy... 1
HeyWatchThis Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 AFMC confirmed at 1730 Friday afternoon no blues on Monday
stract Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) -----Original Message----- From: ACC/CC Commander Sent: Friday, November 30, 2012 5:13 PM To: A bunch of WG/CCs and other staffers Subject: ACC Uniform Guidance Commanders, As you have all heard by now, CSAF does not intend to reissue the policy mandating the wear of Blues on Mondays. Effective immediately, uniform wear in ACC units will be at the discretion of Wing Commanders. NAFs and other staffs may set uniform policy for their respective headquarters. At Headquarters ACC uniform wear will be commensurate with the expected duty that day. For example, if in the performance of your duties you interact with counterparts who normally wear business suits or business smart you will wear Blues. Otherwise, ABUs or flight suits will be the normal duty uniform. As always, Commanders and supervisors should ensure that our Airmen present a professional image and possess/maintain properly fitting uniforms. If you have any questions on this guidance please contact the ACC Director of Staff at ... Gen Mike Hostage Commander, ACC (edit: remove phone #) Edited December 3, 2012 by stract
Guest Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 As always, Commanders and supervisors should ensure that our Airmen present a professional image and possess/maintain properly fitting uniforms. That sentence needed to be in there? Is this the patches and T-shirts are still a no-go qualifier?
lj35driver Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) Got to work this morning and found the Chucktown standard still in effect. There was an email sent not by either of the WG/CCs, but by Public Affairs stating that we are to continue to wear blues because there hasn't been an official rescindence of policy issued. BQZip01 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 AETC = No policy change yet. Standard. Give them 6-9 weeks to form a committee that will make a recommendation to form an approval committee to release a recommendation to the AETC/CC in 6-9 months...it will sit in his exec's inbox for an additional 6-9 weeks and be denied due to improper memo formatting... 3

brickhistory Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 It's WELSH people. WTF in the wide, wide world of sports do the inhabitants a small component state of the United Kingdom have to do with this?
sky_king Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 So if the policy letters expire after a certain amount of time, that means that Blues Monday actually expired a few years ago. I believe a certain Lt Colonel owes me an apology for wearing a flight suit a couple months ago.

Azimuth Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Altus isn't changing. The 97th Air Mobility Wing and Altus AFB currently plans no change to policy regarding the wear of the service uniform on Mondays (Blues Mondays). Repeat: There is no planned change to Blues Monday.
Cell Dweller Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 AFMC confirmed at 1730 Friday afternoon no blues on Monday Source?
HeyWatchThis Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Source? I'll get the email from my buddy tomorrow (he's out today).......... The original came from Gen Wolfenbarger's exec and was sent out to the respective commanders/directors here at WP.....
HercDude Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Altus isn't changing. I've heard so many great things about Altus . . . .
The Texan Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Altus isn't changing. I think that goes for AETC as a whole. Here at Pcola, word from a staff meeting was ' to not get our hopes up.' Just a few more months. Done with this command for-ev-er. 1
17D_guy Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 STRATCOM dropped it for all assigned personnel. The Navy, Army, and Marines got to play in these games with us.
LockheedFix Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I think that goes for AETC as a whole. Here at Pcola, word from a staff meeting was ' to not get our hopes up.' Just a few more months. Done with this command for-ev-er. Word at Little Rock is the decision has already been delegated by AETC/CC to WG/CCs in verbal guidance over the phone, but the word didn't get out until after COB on Friday. Next Monday should be no blues unless your WG/CC decides on extra flair.
bronxbomber252 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I wouldn't hold your breath for Pcola... they are terrible about unnecessary ass pain. I'm glad I won't have to spend more then a few weeks there between KABQ and KVAD.

MCO Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Ramstein is now blues Monday on the first Monday of the month between May and October, or something like that.
