M2 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Really, instead of the non-hostile "Did ya know your shirt's on backwards?" you got the full breech-load effect? Fucking hell, what happened to the days of being cordial to each other?!?
BQZip01 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 He executed a cutoff at the door to the gym and proceeded to tell me how to wear it. Which, ok yeah, I was a retard, however MY assumption would have been that person with said sweatshirt on backwards was in a hurry, had low SA, etc. NOT that he didn't know how to wear it properly. Thanks chief, I'm now a better airman. I swear the bastard was giddy. Hell, I've done the same thing with my nut huggers shorts. Unfortunately I didn't realize it AFTER the PT test (sadly, they didn't fit any better wearing them the proper way) The reason he was giddy was that it was the highlight of his week. It justifies his hours of studying/memorizing AFI36-2903 and all its supplements
Napoleon_Tanerite Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Dammit, I just got chiefed and it was my own stupid fault. Went back to my "room" to change into PTs for the gym, it was dark - roommate was sleeping - so I put my stupid sweatshirt on backwards. Man, that dude must have seem my dumb ass coming (sts) from a mile away with that stupid ginormous reflective AF symbol across my chest.. He executed a cutoff at the door to the gym and proceeded to tell me how to wear it. Which, ok yeah, I was a retard, however MY assumption would have been that person with said sweatshirt on backwards was in a hurry, had low SA, etc. NOT that he didn't know how to wear it properly. Thanks chief, I'm now a better airman. I swear the bastard was giddy. Edit - Oh, I'm not at the Died, just seemed fitting to post that here.. This would have been a time I would have said something to you, but in the "help a bro out" sort of way. There's no problem politely pointing out that someone's shirt is on backwards or collar is flipped up. Most likely the wearer is genuinely unaware of the problem and will be appreciative of it being brought to their attention (I know I am). It's when people (like the dickwad E-9 in your story) treat you like you are an idiot who doesn't know how to dress himself that is the problem.
ThreeHoler Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 I would have said: "Dude, your fuckin' shirt is on backwards!" Problem solved. 1

BitteEinBit Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Hell, I've done the same thing with my nut huggers shorts. Unfortunately I didn't realize it AFTER the PT test (sadly, they didn't fit any better wearing them the proper way) According to AFI 36-6901 (PT reg) you are required to not only wear the PT uniform during your test, but it must be worn properly...your PT test has been invalidated and we will record a failing score in your records.... A letter will be sent to your commander. Please notify you UFM to reschedule your test.

I almost got denied the ability do take my test a couple weeks ago because I had on white compression shorts on. Apparently only black or dark blue are allowed. The tester actually said "I'll let it slip this time" UFB!

Last time I tested a guy was denied the ability to test because he had black running socks on...he had to borrow some dirty socks from another dude to test.
Whitman Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) CH, it's too bad you didn't go Robin Olds on that FAC and square them away. That story in the book when Finance tried to close with 20 ppl in line and Robin ensured all the airmen got paid first was epic. Not saying black socks dude was right but this stuff is maddening. Wow, I was just joking with that post but it looks like there are FACs who actually pay attention to what people are wearing and won't let them test? Really? As hard as it is to schedule a test sometimes, I just can't imagine people getting turned away for socks....socks. I guess nothing really surprises me anymore...

I think I know the person you are refering to... a couple of us took our test a few weeks ago and one of the guys I was with who was behind me took one step into her office and she immediately yelled "I'LL BE RIGHT WITH YOU SIR" along with some speed brake hands. She did the same thing the next week, and this time he didn't even step inside the office. UFB. She also gave a long speech about cheating and UCMJ punishments... good thing we didn't bring the 100+ pages of gouge we had with us. On an unrelated note, I have to admit that this was one of the most laid back Deid deployments I have ever had. My boom got chiefed a couple of times, but I never had a word said to me, and my stache was wayyy out of limits. Having the Guard in charge has made a huge difference IMO. The Guard is only lead of the Tanker unit. The differences you are seeing have everything to do with the new wing king. He changed most of the dumb policies back in October.

PolyestherDuck Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 For better or worse? Jesus, someone answer this question! Inquiring minds need to know.
discus Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Seems to be trending towards less gay here in the boulevard bases. The wing king at ADAB cut the 2903 supp down to like five pages from 30. No reflective belts on the CC side, no hats on the flightline side etc. (Still have not read it) Been here for 4 months now, and only Chiefed once... And it was a blaitent cheifing that got said MSgt stood at attention for a one way conversation. Besides a couple stupid E-Mails from Chief's, this thread has been pretty quiet.
Jaded Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Besides a couple stupid E-Mails from Chief's, this thread has been pretty quiet. I wonder if it's at all because of this thread.
Festivius Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 If the change in Wg/CC emphasis has been the key, that would seem to put to rest the idea that a few run-amok NCOs, rather than senior officer policies, are the root cause of these kind of annoyances...
Hammer Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 For better or worse? Better. The more annoying policies were going away (such as reflective belts in the CC, saluting in PT gear, sunglasses around your neck) giving all the chiefs less to chief you about. 1
BitteEinBit Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Better. The more annoying policies were going away (such as reflective belts in the CC, saluting in PT gear, sunglasses around your neck) giving all the chiefs less to chief you about. I see a potentially bad thing happening here with all the annoying policies going away. If things go back to normal and no one is getting chiefed anymore, what the hell are we going to bitch about on this forum? Can we at least make a pact that even without the bitching, the policies, the chiefing to bitch about, that we still post pictures of boobies to make us feel better???

DUNBAR Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 What the heck? The Deid thread falls to page 3??? This calls for another video: 1
