pawnman Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I gotta be honest. I don't believe you. Sorry. If that's the case then I would have expected equal outrage when the Hutaree militia was allowed to go free on bond. Except that those guys were arrested and there wasn't enough evidence to deny bail. As opposed to "We raided the office and found some suspicious stuff, but we decided to let them go".
Hercster Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Unbelievable. https://newyork.cbslocal.com/2010/09/07/long-island-man-arrested-for-defending-home-with-ak-47/
Vertigo Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I haven't seen any posts here that refer to what country the people came from. If you had bothered to read any of the articles posted on the topic you'd see what countries they were from, their names, and where they were travelling to. Brabus first response was that it was obvious these guys are up to something illegal or planning to do something illegal and that it is ridiculous for us to even consider that they aren't. So how is this case not apropos when it comes to the assumption of innocence? You are correct... OJ was found Not Guilty. That doesn't mean he was found innocent. There is a difference. Vertigo says this man is racist for assuming they were MS13 gang members only because they were of Latin descent. Gearpig gets the hyperbole post of the day. Gratz!
brabus Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I get the whole "innocent until proven guilty." I'm not arguing these guys are guilty, I'm arguing there is obviously something going on here that deserves more than what happened (at least on the surface). It's far enough past simple coincidence that a lot more should have happened. Not saying they're guilty, but they damn sure shouldn't have just been given a free pass and a "sorry for wasting 20 min of your day."

And that's a fair response, and one that I agree with to a point. A bit of an exaggeration as they were actually held for a couple of days by the Dutch while they were investigated, but I get your point. It just read to me, from your initial response, that there was no way these guys weren't up to no good and that any other response other than making them out to be terrorists was inadequate.
M2 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Trapped Miner Finds Himself in Another Tight Spot After Wife Meets Mistress at Vigil One of the trapped Chilean miners is dreading his rescue after his wife met his secret mistress at the entrance to the San Jose mine, The Sun reported Thursday. Yonni Barrios' wife, Marta Salinas, and Barrios' lover, Susana Valenzuela, were both holding vigils for him outside the mine. Salinas was stunned when she heard Valenzuela shouting his name amid a crowd of miners' loved ones. Salinas, 56, is said to be "horrified". However, she is determined not to give up her man to her love rival. She told friends: "Barrios is my husband. He loves me and I am his devoted wife. This woman has no legitimacy." Valenzuela said the 50-year-old miner, who she met on a training course five years ago, was planning to leave his wife for her. She said: "We are in love. I'll wait for him." Barrios has been one of the heroes of the landslide drama -- using his first-aid training to treat sick colleagues. He also vaccinated all 33 men, including himself, against flu and pneumonia. Meanwhile, the captives have been hit with an alcohol and tobacco ban by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) experts helping the rescue. A NASA doctor, James Michael Duncan, said: "We need to get their nutrition up before we consider drinking." Two of the smokers have been dropped nicotine patches and gum to deal with their cravings. But the miners -- who may not be drilled out until Christmas -- have started eating proper meals of 2,000 calories a day. Their rations include yogurt and cereal for breakfast, chicken sandwiches for lunch and jam sandwiches for dinner. They each have tea and five liters of water daily.

Reminds me of the time we pulled into port in White Beach, Okinawa when I was with the 31st MEU, and the wife of the boat's XO was pierside to greet him as a surprise (the boat was home-ported in Yokosuka). Small problem - his girlfriend in White Beach was pierside, too. Oooops...

sky_king Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Anyone know anything about this? What airplane it is? It seems kind of odd to eject out the front of the airplane.
bucky60k Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Anyone know anything about this? What airplane it is? It seems kind of odd to eject out the front of the airplane. Boeing B-47 Stratojet for sure but that pic looks photoshopped to me. THe B-47 did have downward firing seats though
Vertigo Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Anyone know anything about this? What airplane it is? It seems kind of odd to eject out the front of the airplane. He's not ejecting from that aircraft... he ejected from another aircraft. This is his wingman catching him midair, notice the pilot? Saves money from having to repack the chute and sending out the SAR team.
lj35driver Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 So I go to the Manas watering hole to have a beer after a night of flying and the MTV VMAs are on one of the TVs. Lady Gaga gets up on stage to accept an award and then goes into a diatribe about the military's DADT rule. The next thing you know, the camera pans to some AF Maj in his mess dress standing in the audience. Apparently she brought someone from each of the services who had been kicked out under DADT. Check out the pic at the top of this article-here

JarheadBoom Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 WTF... Pentagon to investigate hundreds of suspected child pornography fans in its ranks From the article: Project Flicker began in 2006 as an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Bureau investigation targeting overseas processing of payments for online subscriptions to child pornography websites. In the course of the inquiry, ICE agents obtained a list of names and account information for more than 5,000 U.S. residents who had purchased subscriptions to such sites using their credit cards or PayPal accounts. Some of them used .mil e-mail addresses, or physical addresses on or near military installations, so in 2007 ICE handed the list to DCIS agents to identify and investigate any military members. Sick, clueless fucks...
M2 Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 OK, it's funnier than hell; but it deserves a big WTF?... First, you have to watch this real news report about a serious incident that occurred in Lincoln Park... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P7hXbzpk48 But now, through the miracle of some cool editing, we have a song that quite frankly, is kinda catchy! Thanks to my old pal Dave for bringing the above to my attention! Cheers! M2
Vertigo Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) But now, through the miracle of some cool editing, we have a song that quite frankly, is kinda catchy! Ha! I've had this as my ringtone for a couple weeks now. These kids are pretty damned talented. They run a youtube channel called Auto Tune the News. Can be pretty funny at times. Auto Tune the News What got me onto these guys was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcpx8O82KLM And what these guys did with it: Edited September 19, 2010 by Vertigo
Smokin Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Did you watch some of the responses? I can't tell if this is a joke or she is just that crazy, but it doesn't really matter because it is hilarious! She has other videos that are similar, so I think she might be serious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpzlGkCYva0&feature=player_embedded

Guest BAK12 Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Down here at a training base in Texas the wing/cc has been driving around base and threatening to give LOC's to those folks whose lawns aren't cut or up to standard... regardless if you're living in privatized housing or not.. My WTF meter is pretty high on this one because its been like a billion degrees out and hard to grow much of anything besides butt sweat.. If this is standard for living on most bases I'll stfu... Wow, okay we are fighting a war on two fronts, folks are facing deployment after deployment, and morale is beginning to take a nosedive. Now, on top of that, the Wing King is rolling around base writing folks (who are probably deployed!!) up for their grass being a little long. I am quite sure that there are other issues that are demanding the CC's attention...Geez...
BFM this Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I am quite sure that there are other issues that are demanding the CC's attention...Geez... Mentoring.
