Orbit
https://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57405282/jetblue-captain-subdued-after-pounding-on-cockpit/ (CBS News) A police officer and an off-duty airline pilot subdued a JetBlue captain Tuesday aboard a Las Vegas-bound flight when the captain started pounding on the cockpit door after the flight's co-pilot asked him to leave and subsequently locked him out, a federal official told CBS News. The captain became incoherent during JetBlue Flight 191 from New York's John F. Kennedy International, prompting the co-pilot to get him to leave the cockpit, the official said. JetBlue said in a statement to CBS News that the flight was diverted to Amarillo, Texas, "for a medical situation involving the captain." A different federal official told CBS News that the incident doesn't appear to be related to terrorism, but the FBI is investigating.

Norwich University’s celebration of homosexuality will culminate Saturday with a “Free Love Dance” at the school’s armory. Royal
A while back I posted an article about the model that thought it'd be a good idea to walk face first into the moving prop of a reciprocating engine. Initially, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, realizing that it wouldn't be that hard of a mistake to make especially at night when you're not used to being around aircraft. Now all my pity has been drained as it appears that she's suing the company that operated the prop job. Not so shocking. https://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/46870427/ns/today-today_news/#.T3JcCo7w-jE
Danger41
I love that her argument is over a technicality on the insurance companies definition of "passenger". If she's trying to argue that, they should counter sue her for damaging their airplane while being a trespasser on the ramp since she wasn't a passenger. Not so shocking. https://today.msnbc.m...s/#.T3JcCo7w-jE Don't know what insurance companies are like in the US, but in the UK they are generally a bunch of rip-off artists - they take your money and then use the small print of their T&Cs to wriggle out of settling claims. So, if they've got a poorly worded contract and she's reasonably likely to lose more than $200k in lost earnings, then I wish her the best of luck in making them pay whatever a court deems appropriate. More to the point, I'd be interested in knowing exactly how this happened. I don't know about fixed-wing in the US, but I fly rotary-wing in the UK and as a general rule we don't let passengers get out and walk around at night when the rotors are spinning. pawnman
New Award winner for douche of the month. https://www.airforcet...ference-032812/ Either we have separation of church and state, or we don't. I'm not sure what the context of the reading was...this guy could be one of those douches who can't just stand still and be quiet when the chaplain shows up for a commander's call. But if SOS really is telling people that they'd better go to church, or they are setting a "morally lax" example for their subordinates, it probably is something that should be reviewed. Not everyone goes to church every Sunday, fellas.

raimius
I wonder why so many of these complaints appear to start by going to an outside group. Danger41
Douche of the year. Who actually read online SOS shit that was not gouge? I thought it was funny that the article in question was added in 2004 and not discovered until 2012. So 1 person every 8 years reads the actual coursework, apparently. That checks.
