A Day in the Life of the Air Force

This is the top story on af.mil right now. It's a 13 picture slideshow that 'captures' the diversity of what the Air Force is all about and what we do every day. Those 13 slides include everything from office work, to PT, to PME, to the band. Guess what's missing...

Not just one band, but two! Effects based music is really making progress. I expect this new medium of warfare will drastically shorten whatever we're calling the war on terror today. In fact, we should probably make a separate command, Music Combat Command, to make full use of the potential lethality.

And what was with a dude framing his own ABU shirt? When I retire, I'm going to frame my entire flight suit. And my boots. A six foot by three foot single piece shadow box homage to himself in the living room is exactly what every retiree needs. A perfect centerpiece to the 'I love me wall.'

"He led an 11-person team developing policy for 17 subordinate units and executing strategic communication plans through television, radio and print journalism for ACC leaders."

A real warfighter!

And a bit of a chub to boot!

Can he pass a PT test or the waist measurement? That framed ABU shirt looks like a stage tent for Tops in Blue.

Another fine example of our public (ie government) schools indoctrinating children with lies and propaganda. It only makes an even stronger case for school choice and home schooling...as if there needed to be a stronger case.

Until I clicked on the link, I thought you were talking about the MSNBC promo that's gone viral.

Melissa Harris-Perry - MSNBC']we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities

He doesn't have to. He's retired hit sanctuary. I doubt he built his own shadowbox.

FIFY.

And, on a different note...

Seriously? You're comparing a woman that is suggesting a community should care about the development of its children to Hitler?

I'm conservative and consider myself fairly Libertarian, but this is a bit of a stretch.

Not quite what she is saying.....

We need to get over that kids belong to their parents??

As a parent, the difference for me comes down to choice. I absolutely believe in the power of a community assisting parents in the raising of their children. Assistance by the community of a parent's choosing is the natural extension of that parent's authority in raising a child. Having watched the video numerous times, it truly seems that she is suggesting that my parental rights be transferred to the community, regardless of my choice, to ensure my children have a proper, socially sanctioned, upbringing.

This transfer of parental rights is already happening in our schools and through certain government agencies. On occasion it is a good thing and can help children who are really disadvantaged by their parents' choices. Sometimes, as in the case of abuse, it can be very necessary. Taken to extremes, however, almost any good thing can become extremely bad. This woman has shown in other speeches and interviews that she is a vocal extremist in areas of abortion, religion, socialism, and feminism. Based on her comments in those other areas, I have no reason to doubt that her comments on education and parenting were planned and literal.

As a parent, I believe it is MY RESPONSIBILTY to raise MY children. I do not need community assistance in telling me how to upbring my munchkins. That crap coming out of her mouth is her opinion, to which she is entitled. However, she is not entitled to tell me, or others, on how to raise children. Keep your opinion to yourself, bitch...

If I want my kids to be social retards, I'll try to get them into USAFA...

2 Bands and a drill team, but they couldn't get the guy who watched me pee in a cup last week?
