She even had to quit a job in a biscuit factory because the machines kept setting her off.

Sounds like she should have kept working at the biscuit factory.

Plane landed in LAVA?

A 2002 volcanic eruption sent lava oozing onto Goma's runway, truncating it from more than 2 miles (3 kilometers) to less than a mile (1.5 kilometers). Authorities have not removed all of the lava rock.

So it's been like SEVEN YEARS and they haven't cleaned that sh*t up yet? (Granted, cleaning lava has got to be a royal bitch) But Holy crap, they could have moved that stuff by hand in that amount of time. In WWII they built whole airfields in China/Burma by hand in a matter of months. WTF is the problem here? Oh wait... it’s a UN run operation, that explains EVERYTHING. But I'm sure they could have got the UN (ahem... the US taxpayer) to fund a clean-up under ICAO, UNHCR, UNICEF or some other bullsh*t UN operation.

Tiger Woods takes up firefighting and lumber uh.... jacking. I fail to see how alcohol was NOT related to this. Not only was it the wee hours of the morning but AFTER he backed over the fire hydrant, he drives straight into a tree! I smell a cover up!

It wasn't as bad of an accident as the press originally made it out to be, he's already been released from the hospital...

Authorities: Tiger Woods hurt in Fla. car crash

By DOUG FERGUSON, AP Golf Writer

Tiger Woods sustained facial cuts in a minor car accident early Friday when his SUV hit a fire hydrant and a neighbor’s tree as he was leaving his mansion in a gated waterfront community near Orlando, Fla.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the 33-year-old PGA Tour star was alone in his 2009 Cadillac when he pulled out of his driveway at 2:25 a.m.

The patrol reported Woods’ injuries as serious, although Woods spokesman Glenn Greenspan said the golfer was treated at a hospital and released in good condition. Windermere mayor Gary Bruhn said police from the village were among the first on the scene and saw Woods with cuts on his face.

The patrol said alcohol was not involved, although the accident remains under investigation and charges could be filed.

Left unanswered was where Woods was going at that hour. Greenspan and agent Mark Steinberg said there would be no comment beyond the short statement of the accident on Woods’ Web site.

Woods, coming off a two-week trip to China and Australia earlier this month, is host of the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, Calif., which starts Thursday. He is scheduled to have his press conference Tuesday afternoon at Sherwood Country Club. Steinberg said he did not know if Woods planned to play next week.

The accident report was not released until nearly 12 hours after Woods was injured. Patrol spokesman Kim Montes said injuries are considered serious if they require more than minor medical attention.

Montes said air bags in the SUV did not deploy.

Investigators still have not had a chance to speak to golf’s No. 1 player, but when they do, “we will ask him everything,” Montes said. “We just haven’t had a chance to do so because he was being medically treated.”

Montes said charges could be filed if there was a clear traffic violation, although troopers still do not know what caused Woods’ SUV to hit the hydrant and the tree.

Woods’ $2.4 million home is part of the exclusive Isleworth subdivision near Orlando, a community set on an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course and a chain of small lakes. The neighborhood, which is fortified with high brick walls and has its own security force, is home to CEOs and other sports stars such as the NBA’s Shaquille O’Neal.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that an orange and white barricade sat on top of a hole in front of Woods’ home. About 10 feet away, there was a tire track near an oak tree in his neighbor’s yard. The tree had a few scuff marks but was largely unscathed.

Woods, who has won 82 times around the world and 14 majors, attended the Stanford-Cal football game, where he tossed the coin at the start of the game and was inducted into Stanford’s sports Hall of Fame at halftime.

He won six times this year after missing eight months recovering from reconstructive surgery on his left knee. Even though he failed to win a major, Woods said he considered this a successful year because he did not know how his knee would respond.

I stand corrected, maybe there was much more going on...

Tiger Woods: Injuries Caused by Wife, Not SUV

Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident, they were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren -- according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident.

Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol -- that should happen this afternoon. But we're told Tiger had a conversation Friday -- with a non-law enforcement type -- detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant.

We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.

We're told Woods became "distracted," thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.

We're also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.

There have been rumors circulating that Rachel Uchitel claims she has been sleeping with Tiger Woods; but hang on, there's more...

Is There Another Woman? is it Rachel Uchitel? What is the Story Behind the Tiger Woods Car Accident?

TMZ reported Saturday that Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods' wife, has presented two stories to two different sets of law enforcement officials in Florida with regard to the goings-on surrounding Tiger Woods car accident at roughly 2 o'clock Friday morning.

The Tiger Woods car accident story keeps getting a little more detailed and a little more intriguing with each passing storyline. And as each detail presents itself, the story looks to be catching up with the rumors about an affair with Rachel Uchitel that are being circulated on Twitter and on online blogs.

What is known is that Tiger Woods, while attempting to leave his home in Orlando early Friday morning, somehow became distracted and hit a fire hydrant and a tree in a neighbor's yard. It was reported that Tiger Woods was found in the street with his wife standing over him with a golf club. TMZ reported that Elin Nordegren told Windermere Police that she had used the golf club to break open the SUV window to help get a dazed Tiger Woods out of the crashed car. TMZ also learned that Elin Nordegren's story to the Florida Highway Patrol has been a somewhat different story.

TMZ is reporting that their source at the Florida Highway Patrol would only allow them to say that Elin Nordegren did not go back to the house to retrieve a club to knock out the SUV's window. Woods wife told the Windermere Police that she had got the golf club to help get her husband out of the vehicle.

And then there is the matter of Tiger Woods' facial lacerations without there being blood on the steering wheel of the crashed car.

TMZ had earlier reported that a source had informed them that Tiger Woods had had a heated altercation with his wife over reports that he was having an affair. After she attacked him, he left, but she followed him with the golf club. He was distracted (possibly by the golf-wielding blonde whacking his SUV?) and hit the hydrant and tree.

It is unclear why there are two separate stories, save that Elin Nordegren may be worried about assault charges.

But what about why Woods' wife allegedly went ballistic? Is it true that Tiger Woods is cheating on his wife? Was the confrontation over suspicions or over the reports in the National Enquirer that Rachel Uchitel is Tiger Woods' other woman? Did Elin Nordegren catch Tiger Woods trying to sneak out at 2 a.m.? Or was there more to the Rachel Uchitel story? Could it have been something or someone else?

Elin Nordegren refused to talk with investigators when they returned to her home for questioning Saturday afternoon.

Where's that damn popcorn emoticon? :mosh:

WTF?

Marilyn Manson says he's back together with Evan Rachel Wood...

Why would this...

evan-rachel-wood.jpgevan-rachel-wood-unknown.jpgrachelevanwood.jpg

...end up with this?

Fucking waste of hot female flesh, I doubt "it" (Manson) even has any manhood...most likely it broke itself off in an attempt to get away from that freakshow...

Why would this...

Women like musicians with lots of money, even if they have fame and money themselves? There is no logical explanation.

He's dated lots of hot celebs, and had even more hot chicks throw themselves at him... It's probably partially money, and partially that whole chicks like bad boys thing...

WTF is with the new shamwow commercial? There are commercials that annoy me, but this takes it to a whole new level. I can't even allow it to play for its duration before I mute/change channel. How would this appeal to the same demographic they seem to be shooting for with penis enlargement commercials given that it only plays late-night?

Enjoy!

While it's definitely his personal responsibility and all that, there are a few WTF? moments in regards to the casino, too:

"In April, the Clark County District Attorney's office charged Mr. Watanabe with four felony counts in district court for intent to defraud and steal from Harrah's, stemming from $14.7 million that the casino says it extended to him as credit, and that he lost." (WTF? He's losing all that money, and yet you lent him millions?! Serves you right, Harrah's...)

"Several former and current Harrah's employees say their managers told them to let Mr. Watanabe continue betting while he was visibly intoxicated, even though casino rules and state law stipulate that anyone who is clearly drunk shouldn't be allowed to gamble. These employees say they were afraid they would be fired if they did anything to discourage Mr. Watanabe from gambling at the casinos."

"A picture of him was hung in employee back rooms, they say."

Just saying, plenty of WTF? on both sides there.

My submission: Police stealing from people to fund their departments. https://www.detnews.com/article/20091113/METRO/911130372
