BADFNZ Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 For the last couple years I've been a disciple of Maker's and all of its greatness. When doing a little research today I found that Maker's produces a 101 proof Bourbon and packages it in a gold-tipped bottle. Supposedly they still make it but it is no longer sold in the US, but can be found in Japan. So has anyone seen this stuff anywhere and more importantly, how much would it cost for you to ship me a bottle or two?
Champ Kind Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I'm stationed at Yokota. I've always been more of a Chivas guy myself, but I'll keep an eye out for you. If I spot some off-base, I'll PM you with the cost.
LockheedFix Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I definitely never saw it on any base in Japan, and I doubt you'd find it in any regular liquor store in Japan. Maybe some upscale/specialty type place in Tokyo. Many bars downtown had Maker's on the shelf, but I never saw it in a store other than at the duty free in the airport.
Mike Honcho Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Keep me in the loop too. Makers is some good stuff.
Schmity Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) Heres some info. Sounds to be really hard to get a hold of now. Good luck! I'd like to try some, but I doubt you can get it in the states for less than a small fortune. Spirit Wholesalers Makers Mark Gold Edited December 24, 2008 by Schmity
flyerpapa Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 And, I have heard it said, "under the Rock of Ages you will find a bottle of Makers Mark".
