HossHarris Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Looks like I may be living in Egypt for a bit. Anyone been there (TDY or otherwise)? Any tips/pointers/insults/vicious personal attacks?
brickhistory Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 There's the obvious of not cheering when Israel schwacks a terrorist with a Hellfire on TV in the local watering hole. Oh, and no "Jews for Jesus" t-shirts. Other than that, I got nothin'... Sorry, too obvious and no help. Good luck.
slacker Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 i hear the "bum-f<cked" area of Egypt is nice.
Guest jtek Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I was TDY to Cairo for 200 plus days and enjoyed it. We all stayed in contracted apartments in Maadi which were huge and well furnished. Lots to do, friendly people. Large population of ex-pats and westerners that work there. Also had all the AFN you could ever want...

itsokimapilot Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I spent a week in Cairo and I was really impressed. It is the only Arab city I have felt comfortable in. The people are nice and Cairo is very modern. Enjoy the experience.
