Going the opposite direction from Act of Valor, wifey and I went and saw "The Artist" last night, just because I guess it won so many awards. All I had heard about it going in was that it was a "French silent film," so I kind of expected some stuffy European art crap. But it ended up being pretty entertaining! The interesting thing I realized afterwards was that I don't think it would have been any better even with dialogue. I guess that was probably the point.

Wow. I would think that's something you wouldn't want people to know that you know.

This coming out the same year as the Hobbit= best year for movies in awhile:

Yet another new actor playing the Hulk though.

This looks badass! I'm all about original action movies, with cool guns, and a funny plot--hot chicks in the movie always helps too. I need to watch 'True Romance' again.

Great movie. Although it's always entertaining trying to explain to another guy why he should watch something called 'True Romance' that isn't porn.

I thought I was the only person who had seen that movie, besides Christian Slater's mom.

Dude, what, are you kidding? 'True Romance' is an awesome movie! I can't speak for Slater's mom (just BQZip's mom), but everybody I've ever shown that movie to loved it, and quite a few went out and bought it afterwards. I heard from an old Pave (MH-53 for the non rotorheads) guy that it was a tradition to watch True Romance before they left for a deployment, but who knows.

The movie provides awesome quotes as well....

"...do I look like a beautiful blonde with big tits and an ass that tastes like French vanilla ice cream?"

Not Slater, but another Christian given-named actor I have enjoyed is every Christian Bale movie I have seen, especially

There's something about that flick that I could watch again and again. There's something about that whole flick that totally resonates with me... I can relate to his character on so many levels.

HeloDude, you don't have to convince me, I love the film. Patricia Arquette at her hottest. Samuel L. Jackson, Gandolfini, and Christopher Walken as bad guys all in the same movie and Val Kilmer is the ghost of Elvis inciting a dude to murder. I love how at the end, they just bail on Michael Rappaport's character after the final gun battle and it's like he never existed. That's what he gets for being a supporting actor I guess.

I'll admit I was pretty skeptical, but 21 Jump Street is getting great feedback on rotten tomatoes (97% @ 23 reviews) and has been getting high reviews from the critics.

How many times can Jonah Hill loss 50 lbs, gain it back, and loss it again? I swear he must alternate it every movie.

And his next flick is The Dark Knight Rises.

Saw it last night. Silly, but pretty funny.
