HerkFE Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Haven't seen it mentioned here yet, so I'll throw out a recommendation for We're the Millers. Funniest movie I've seen in years, and Jennifer Anniston as a stripper was worth the price of admission alone.... Wife loved the movie, too, FWIW. EDIT: me no spel gud 3
M2 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 "The World's End" Meh... Same guys from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Kind of a rehash of the former along with some life changes you from a beer-swilling teen-ager to a middle-aged man lessons. Maybe a Netflix or other rental, but not full movie price. Some moments, but not enough. Took the wife to see it this afternoon, it wasn't bad but I see what you mean. Not as good as their prior efforts, but not a turd by any means...
Toro Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I can't decide what makes me more angry, the fact that they remade this classic and will most likely fuck it up. Or the fact that I kinda want to see it.
Ziplip Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Surprised to say that Kick Ass 2 was pretty good and pretty damn funny. Never seen (or even heard of the original) Kick Ass but they did a good filling in the gaps I might have missed not seeing the first one.
Champ Kind Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I can't decide what makes me more angry, the fact that they remade this classic and will most likely fuck it up. Or the fact that I kinda want to see it. I feel old.
slackline Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I can't decide what makes me more angry, the fact that they remade this classic and will most likely ###### it up. Or the fact that I kinda want to see it. I feel the same.
Clayton Bigsby Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I think it looks alright. The new Total Recall was great, and I've heard good things about Dredd, so it's possible...
JeepGuyC17 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I think it looks alright. The new Total Recall was great, and I've heard good things about Dredd, so it's possible... I can vouch for Dredd. Solid and entertaining B movie.
Lord Ratner Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I can vouch for Dredd. Solid and entertaining B movie. The plot was B. But the production was A and the acting was a solid A-/B+. I get the sense that the science of making an action movie has gotten to the point where there are no B movies any more, just boring A movies and low budget C movies.
sky_king Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I can't decide what makes me more angry, the fact that they remade this classic and will most likely fuck it up. Or the fact that I kinda want to see it.Does Does he still drive a Ford Taurus?
M2 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Does he still drive a Ford Taurus? I wouldn't be surprised, considering Ford just released the new Police Interceptor this year based on the Taurus...
JarheadBoom Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Planes was ok, didn't quite have the charm of Cars, but it wasn't bad. Concur. Plot was predictable as hell, but hey, it's a kids movie... what do you expect? I personally enjoyed the decent number of correct aviation references, both visual and scripted, especially compared to the massacre of aviation that Hollywood usually puts out.
10percenttruth Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I can't decide what makes me more angry, the fact that they remade this classic and will most likely ###### it up. Or the fact that I kinda want to see it. At least this time around they can film it in actual modern-day Detroit & get the bombed-out shithole look on the cheap! 5
Clayton Bigsby Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Local po-pos around here have Tauri, they do look pretty badass, so...yeah it's possible.
BFM this Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Local po-pos around here have Tauri, they do look pretty badass, so...yeah it's possible. As opposed to the debut of the '91 Caprice, which was quickly dubbed "the Egg".
M2 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Local po-pos around here have Tauri, they do look pretty badass, so...yeah it's possible. I've driven the Explorer-based Interceptor, it's pretty impressive! Makes the old Crown Vics feel like boats, and even the Tahoes don't get close to handling as well... The biggest proplem with the Taurus-based Interceptors is that they are pretty confined inside once you get all the equipment installed.
HU&W Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Anyone seen "Black Eagle" the new Koran top gun knockoff on Netflix?
Toro Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Anyone seen "Black Eagle" the new Koran top gun knockoff on Netflix? Return to Base? . It makes "Behind Enemy Lines" look Oscar-worthy. Here's a seven-minute clip. Good popcorn movie, as long as you don't let silly things like physics get in the way of your movies.
ThreeHoler Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Chappieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Ram Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Filming took 10 years given the infrequency of clear weather in Korea. Also, those expensive JHMCS display units sure work great without the visors...
DFRESH Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Chappieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! You gotta use the HUD... that's what it's there for! 1
Spur38 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Brad Pitt: "World War Z" Don't bother....one of the worst movies I've seen.
WeatherManC130 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Brad Pitt: "World War Z" Don't bother....one of the worst movies I've seen. Really? I thought it was a pretty good zombie movie. Kept me interested at least. WxMan
spaceman Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 "Prisoners" was not bad. Pretty decent mystery plot that had me wondering until near the end.
