CDAWG Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Really enjoyed the Netflix movies, "The King" and "The Highwaymen" was surprised how good they were for not having been to the movie theaters. 2
MilitaryToFinance Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Just got back from watching Dark Waters for work. Not a bad movie if you like the lawyer drama type movies. It's a little less dramatic than the trailer portrays it. DuPont is so worried about the movie they released a 2 page rebuttal press release to their depiction in the film. That's a good endorsement in my book.
M2 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Looking forward to this one...hope it's done right! 2 1
Blue Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I'd heard all the buzz around The Irishman, so watched it a couple weeks ago. In all the buzz, I hadn't realized that the movie is three and a half hours long. Damn. And not "Wow, that three and a half hours just flew by." More like, "Damn, Scorsese really likes doing those long shots of people simply walking....for like five minutes straight." It was entertaining, but be prepared for the long haul. Not Goodfellas good, or Casio good, but still entertaining. Felt like it could have been edited down to 2.5 hours or so, and still not lost anything. 1
Guardian Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Wait so, a Pearl Harbor redux? Not even close. There is almost nothing about love or families in this movie. IMO it blows Pearl Harbor out of the water and has the added benefit of not having Ben Affleck (sp) in it.
dotonfire Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Probably their take on Aurora/SR-72. I watched them film that scene while I was leaving work. They did a few passes with Blue Angel #2 and of course nobody was actually standing there. They had a full-size mock-up of the bird pictured in my hangar. China Lake definitely does not have a guard shack right at the departure end of 14. 1

dotonfire Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 They did have it parked on the ramp outside the weapons lab which would have been entertaining had Russia chosen to do an Open Skies flight that particular day. 1
AParker95 Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I just watched 6 Underground starring Ryan Reynolds on Netflix. It's not that bad, but not good either.
StoleIt Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Knives Out was pretty good. Chris Evans makes are really good asshole and Daniel Craig half pulled off a southern twang. 2

StoleIt Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Star Wars was meh. It wasn't bad...but I went in with high hopes and it didn't really deliver. Just manage your expectations and don't expect an Avengers End Game level of conclusion to the saga.
pawnman Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 If it's better than The Last Jedi, I'll be satisfied.
