spaceman Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Going the opposite direction from Act of Valor, wifey and I went and saw "The Artist" last night, just because I guess it won so many awards. All I had heard about it going in was that it was a "French silent film," so I kind of expected some stuffy European art crap. But it ended up being pretty entertaining! The interesting thing I realized afterwards was that I don't think it would have been any better even with dialogue. I guess that was probably the point.
Vertigo Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 It was hanging on the wall down at sheriff's office NAMBLA HQ. FIFY

Guest Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 FIFY Wow. I would think that's something you wouldn't want people to know that you know.
ClearedHot Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Where did you get my passport picture? No shit...way to close to real!
Masshole Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 This coming out the same year as the Hobbit= best year for movies in awhile: Yet another new actor playing the Hulk though.
BlackKnight Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 That's one of the best movie trailers I've seen in a long time. Hope it's as good as it looks. And, if only...
HeloDude Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 This looks badass! I'm all about original action movies, with cool guns, and a funny plot--hot chicks in the movie always helps too. I need to watch 'True Romance' again.
NEflyer Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) I need to watch 'True Romance' again. Great movie. Although it's always entertaining trying to explain to another guy why he should watch something called 'True Romance' that isn't porn. Edited March 11, 2012 by NEflyer
guineapigfury Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 This looks badass! I'm all about original action movies, with cool guns, and a funny plot--hot chicks in the movie always helps too. I need to watch 'True Romance' again. I thought I was the only person who had seen that movie, besides Christian Slater's mom.
HeloDude Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I thought I was the only person who had seen that movie, besides Christian Slater's mom. Dude, what, are you kidding? 'True Romance' is an awesome movie! I can't speak for Slater's mom (just BQZip's mom), but everybody I've ever shown that movie to loved it, and quite a few went out and bought it afterwards. I heard from an old Pave (MH-53 for the non rotorheads) guy that it was a tradition to watch True Romance before they left for a deployment, but who knows. The movie provides awesome quotes as well.... "...do I look like a beautiful blonde with big tits and an ass that tastes like French vanilla ice cream?"
Finger Four Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Not Slater, but another Christian given-named actor I have enjoyed is every Christian Bale movie I have seen, especially There's something about that flick that I could watch again and again. There's something about that whole flick that totally resonates with me... I can relate to his character on so many levels.
guineapigfury Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 HeloDude, you don't have to convince me, I love the film. Patricia Arquette at her hottest. Samuel L. Jackson, Gandolfini, and Christopher Walken as bad guys all in the same movie and Val Kilmer is the ghost of Elvis inciting a dude to murder. I love how at the end, they just bail on Michael Rappaport's character after the final gun battle and it's like he never existed. That's what he gets for being a supporting actor I guess.
BlackKnight Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) New Bourne movie. Shold be good. Jeremy Renner as the lead guy instead of Matt Damon, and includes Ed Norton. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xoihgz_the-bourne-legacy-trailer-official-2012-1080-hd-jeremy-renner_people Edited March 11, 2012 by Barney A-10

Vertigo Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I'll admit I was pretty skeptical, but 21 Jump Street is getting great feedback on rotten tomatoes (97% @ 23 reviews) and has been getting high reviews from the critics.
M2 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Well, based on the previews I've seen, I'm still skeptical...
Wolf424 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 How many times can Jonah Hill loss 50 lbs, gain it back, and loss it again? I swear he must alternate it every movie.
HercDude Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 How many times can Jonah Hill loss 50 lbs, gain it back, and loss it again? I swear he must alternate it every movie. Christian Bale has him beat: IN 2000 IN 2004 IN 2005 IN 2006 IN 2008 IN 2009 And his next flick is The Dark Knight Rises.
JeepGuyC17 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 I'll admit I was pretty skeptical, but 21 Jump Street is getting great feedback on rotten tomatoes (97% @ 23 reviews) and has been getting high reviews from the critics. Saw it last night. Silly, but pretty funny.
