Ram Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 This topic should get some decent discussion going... So what do you carry in your flight suit pockets? What about your G-suit? Other pockets? Here's mine: Flight Suit Right chest pocket: Wallet and SQ coin Left chest pocket: USB jump drive and elastic "pen band" Left Sleeve: Cell phone, chapstick, earplugs Thigh pockets: Nothing Knife pocket: Gone Left ankle: Nothing Right ankle: Flight cap and Oakley soft vault/sunglasses G Suit Left pocket: Checklist Right pocket: Red "crack to light" glowstick, silver mylar blanket, piddle pack, LED flashlight (clip to zipper type), and (if I'm going off-station) my Garmin 96C Helmet bag pockets Extra piddle pack, flashlight, extra nomex gloves So chime-in with what you got on ya. I bet us BaseOps-ers carry some crazy shit...
ACCBoomer Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Being an "E" I can say that I always have a spoon & fork in my pencil pocket while flying. Beyond that I carry my wallet, coin, linebadge. Thats about it...

Guest sleepy Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Knife pocket: tampon That's what you wanted somone to say, isn't it Fury? What CD's do you have in your car's changer? Clarence Carter is in my #1 slot. Decent discussion? Huh? Fury...grab a six pack and turn on SportsCenter. It's going to be okay.

Guest Hydro130 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 OK, what the hell, I'll bite... Bag: Left sleeve: Keys, and more often than not, some nasty ear plugs left over from a previous flight Left Chest: PDA Right Chest: tethered line badge Thigh Pockets: Friday nametag, and I would use them for my stopwatch and finger light when flying to make sure they were accounted for if not being used right then... Knife pocket: one or two highlighters & a grease pencil. Left ankle: MAC purse and cell phone Right ankle: personal msn planning checklist, wallet, and that goofy hat Pens and pencils were just Bic or Skilcraft cheapies. I learned early on that there is a very real direct correlation between how fast pens and pencils disappear forever off the flight suit and their original cost. G-suit: thanks, but no thanks Helmet bag: Helmet and visors only. LS didn't allow anything else. I was one of early rebels to do the squeeze red LED light on the flight suit main zipper. I even cut off the cloth zipper pulls. I doubt you can do that anymore. I always got dirty looks from the O-6s, but nothing was in the regs about it back then anyway. I didn't care what people said about it, it was just hella convenient to always have it there. The in-flight ball cap, spare gloves, shades, and spare earplugs were in my pubs bag along with all kinds of other arguably useless crap that's accumulated in there over the years. Some units put Talkabouts in the mission kits these days, but I've always carried a set of those too in my pubs bag. They made the on-the-road pre-departure ops/mx/O/E clown show much less chaotic when ramp conditions permitted. Oh, and one of these: Sheesh 509thBoom, separate forks and spoons? That's SO yesterday! :D Cheers, Hydro

SUX Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Left sleeve: ear plugs and coin Left Chest: loose change and chapstick Right Chest: car keys Thigh Pocket: beer coozy Left ankle: cell phone and wallet Right ankle: flight cap and sun glasses
Rocker Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Originally posted by Hydro130: Left sleeve: Keys, and more often than not, some nasty ear plugs left over from a previous flight I reuse the same earplugs seven to ten times. Just my little way of saving the tax payers a little of their hard-earned money. As far as the pockets: Left arm: amphetamines Left chest: amphetamines Right chest: amphetamines Left leg: amphetamines Knife pocket: knife Right leg: amphetamines Left ankle: amphetamines Right ankle: amphetamines
Ram Posted January 17, 2007 Author Posted January 17, 2007 Ok, ok, ok... So not all of my ideas are good ones. After a couple beers and during a boring night of washing my bags in the ol' laundry machine, this SEEMED like a pretty funny thread. Now I realize... This thread = So lock it if you wish. I'm done.

Stiffler Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Ya, I gotta say, this is GAY. I carry whatever i need for the day in whichever pocket i feel like putting it in.
JS Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Although this thread is kind of gay, I will throw out one thing that I carry that comes in handy a lot - the leatherman Micra. It is a very small leatherman that fits in the little knife pocket with the tampon string (no G-suit for me).
