BolterKing Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 A 130+ dB alarm is louder than an unloaded M9. Not sure where you're at, we're most def not walking around unloaded.
Shortbus Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) Not sure where you're at, we're most def not walking around unloaded. At a desk. 6-9 feet from a GO. In a camp full of other GOs. FML. Edited February 27, 2012 by Shortbus

SurelySerious Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I see the Army has its priorities straight: ROTC Returns to Harvard
Cap-10 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I see the Army has its priorities straight: ROTC Returns to Harvard Hell, when I was in Korea, the Army guys were wearing their orange vests.....while running on a treadmill inside the gym. WOW! Cheers, Cap-10
Who? Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Hell, when I was in Korea, the Army guys were wearing their orange vests.....while running on a treadmill inside the gym. WOW! Yep, still happening. I was encouraged, however, to hear my Army E-3 classmate at my last assignment refer to his reflective belt as a "PT belt." It seemed like he was being taught it was specifically (and only) for his 0500 runs down the middle of the road in the pitch dark -- a viable use for a reflective belt in my opinion.
Slander Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 They sell custom RFBs in Songtan...you can get yours with your "call sign" and squadron on it!!!1!!!1!!

In 8 years in the Army I only heard it called a PT Belt. I don't think I even heard the term "Reflective Belt" until I started hanging around AF forums. Not that that matters at all. What does matter a tiny bit was in the Army at least in my experience, the only time I ever saw PT belts was during PT on the road. Not in the gym, not in the PX, not in the chow hall, definitely not while wearing ACU's!
Breckey Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 At Ft Rucker, they wore it everywhere in PT gear. In the gym, on the road, in the class six, etc.
spaceman Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) To be fair I was in the reserves and spent most of my time at Fot McCoy and Camp Bullis, which are both pretty "rural". I guess at the larger AD bases it would probably be worse. Edited September 12, 2012 by spaceman
Hydrostream Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 It's part of the PT uniform, so whenever you are in PTs you wear the PT belt. Pretty much the only time you will see a soldier not in PTs wearing one is if they are riding a motorcycle.
Guest Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Why did you have to use Mayor's wife for that? She's cool, actually.

TarHeelPilot Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Are we required to wear reflective belts in civies at the Deid?
sky_king Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I haven't been and nobody's stopped me. I'm not really sure if it's required or not; regardless, I don't care. That said, I really haven't ventured far outside the concrete barrier lined area of the CC in civies.
StoleIt Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Are we required to wear reflective belts in civies at the Deid? Yeap.
C130GuardBum Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 As silly as the reflector belts are, I am just happy to be in civilian clothes.
