A 130+ dB alarm is louder than an unloaded M9.

Not sure where you're at, we're most def not walking around unloaded.

At a desk. 6-9 feet from a GO. In a camp full of other GOs. FML.

You can either be working for a GO unloaded, or out here needing your weapon everywhere you go. It blows either way.

Hell, when I was in Korea, the Army guys were wearing their orange vests.....while running on a treadmill inside the gym.

WOW!

Yep, still happening.

I was encouraged, however, to hear my Army E-3 classmate at my last assignment refer to his reflective belt as a "PT belt." It seemed like he was being taught it was specifically (and only) for his 0500 runs down the middle of the road in the pitch dark -- a viable use for a reflective belt in my opinion.

True. In 8 years in the Army I only heard it called a PT Belt. I don't think I even heard the term "Reflective Belt" until I started hanging around AF forums. Not that that matters at all.

What does matter a tiny bit was in the Army at least in my experience, the only time I ever saw PT belts was during PT on the road. Not in the gym, not in the PX, not in the chow hall, definitely not while wearing ACU's!

To be fair I was in the reserves and spent most of my time at Fot McCoy and Camp Bullis, which are both pretty "rural". I guess at the larger AD bases it would probably be worse.

It's part of the PT uniform, so whenever you are in PTs you wear the PT belt. Pretty much the only time you will see a soldier not in PTs wearing one is if they are riding a motorcycle.

Why did you have to use Mayor's wife for that? She's cool, actually.

I haven't been and nobody's stopped me. I'm not really sure if it's required or not; regardless, I don't care. That said, I really haven't ventured far outside the concrete barrier lined area of the CC in civies.

EDIT: Does embedding on this site really need to be such a PITA...?

Just paste the youtube link from the address bar direct in the reply box.

ETA: That's how I always do it, but YMMV.

Is the way it SHOULD work, but doesn't.

Figures it would be Dutch, we'd never have such a great safety video like that in this country...

From the country right next to the country that brought you
