Remain Overnight Question

Howdy-

I'm trying to plan my cross country (T-6) and want to remain overnight at KDWH. It's listed on the AETC Letter of Agreement list, which just means we can land/refuel there, right? I've got another list that's labeled "14 FTW Joint-Use Civilian Side Tracker", and KDWH isn't on there. I've been told by the step desk at Randolph that they indeed do remain overnight at KDWH, and that there's some AETC-wide RON tracker. Where can I find this? I asked my IPs, and haven't gotten a good answer. They keep referring me to the local 14 FTW list.

Thanks!

The Civilian Side Tracker is for airports that are both civilian and military. You can land and RON at these places, but you have to get all your servicing done on the mil side (why would the AF pay civilian FBO fees when there's a military ramp). The AETC LOA is what we went off of for our XCs, and our old IFG had the RON locations.

Ah, thank you. That makes sense. So I was misinterpreting the meaning of the RON tracker.

'preciate it!

Houston is cool and all by why not go somewhere further away? My T-6 XC was completely dictated by the weather but we went from DLF to Lincoln, Ne (RON), to COS to Santa Fe (RON), Roswell to SAT (RON) and home. Not necessarily the greatest locations but an awesome trip none the less. Some of our guys went to P-Cola. Just saying when I was in TX I wanted to go as far as I could. Besides we went to Houston on O&Bs. Have fun either way!

When a Guard/Reserve unit at these joint bases won't service your jet (the norm), will AETC let you go?

I'm out of Columbus, not TX. And Houston wasn't my first XC destination choice... So here's the story.

Squadron commander walks into our flight room a week ago, looks at me (we'd never spoken before), and said "We're going cross country to your mom's house". I gave him a "I have no idea what you're talking about look". Apparently my Mom (geez!) wrote a letter to my SQ/CC telling him that our neighbor used to be a SQ/CC of the 41st many many moons ago before it was a training squadron. I had no idea about this, but apprently my SQ/CC wants to go meet him. So we're going to Houston.

Plan is to spend the first night in Pensacola. Not sure - weather will dictate.

That's some hot shit right there. You should write plots for porn films.

Nice...I had a brain fart on where the 14th was. Have fun. Say hi to your Mom for me. (I only say that cause I saw my Mom on XC (COS), purely by chance since we never new where we were going til a few hours before T/O.
