KState_Poke22 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I tried searching and I couldn't find anything on it but I was just curious if Type 1 or 2 diabetes is disqualifying for flying status in the AF. Thanks
Guest goducks Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I tried searching and I couldn't find anything on it but I was just curious if Type 1 or 2 diabetes is disqualifying for flying status in the AF. Thanks The waiver guide is online at: USAF waiver guide 2007 See page 166. This is the 2007 version, but the aeromedical recommendations appear to be the same as the newer (2009) version, which I didn't easily find online. In a nutshell, FCI will not be waivered for any DM. FCII or FCIII are waiverable only if they can be controlled without medications.
afnav Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Over a long period of time, I have begun to get many of the symptoms of the onset of Type II diabetes. If you are not dependent on insulin, will I be medically retired? I don't know a thing about it. Has anyone had any experience with it?
