guineapigfury Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 The unit at McConnell still has them. They use Nav's for SOAR. They're at other units as well, just in very small numbers. We had 2 and I flew with one about once a year. 1

LoadClear Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 (edited) 12-12's drop, which I am too lazy to type out. Edited June 30, 2012 by LoadClear 1

flyboy4life Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 What's with all the KC-135 slots in these nav drops? I thought they got rid of the nav 14 years ago. Around 10 navs per squadron at McConnell. As for followon locations, at most 1 or 2 go to Kadena or Mildenhall. If you like Wichita, you could spend your whole ADSC there with the tankers. But staff locations are the best option once you get your meet your gates. There are still some staff navs at guard units around the country, all staff / mission planners at this point.

OregonHerc Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 12-14 drop night results 1x MC-130 Nav Cannon Was this a J model?
Harpy Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 It would have to be.... There is only one type of MC at Cannon!
OregonHerc Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Good point. I was hoping they were going off the "old" designation for the W so that'd we'd get some more navs.
Champ Kind Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 It would have to be.... There is only one type of MC at Cannon! Don't they have MC-130Ws, too?
OregonHerc Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Don't they have MC-130Ws, too? "officially" now AC-130W
OregonHerc Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Because the mission has been an AC type one for some time, but only recently did the politician types change the designation.

lmarron Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 2 questions folks. Do the EWOs for the MC's sit on the flight deck? Second, previously MC Navs needed a tour on regular 130s first right, is that still the case? Thanks!
Guest Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Do the EWOs for the MC's sit on the flight deck? Yes, on the console right between the pilots. But you have to face backward.
Guest one Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 You will find some good info on the MC on page 34 and 35. https://content.yudu.com/Library/A1u3m5/AirCommandoJournal/resources/index.htm?referrerUrl=
nsplayr Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 (edited) Second, previously MC Navs needed a tour on regular 130s first right, is that still the case? Thanks! Unless it's changed that's true for MC-130H Talon IIs but not for MC-130P Shadow. Should be a moot point once we have all MC-130J Commando IIs. Edited October 9, 2012 by nsplayr
bronxbomber252 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Unless it's changed that's true for MC-130H Talon IIs but not for MC-130P Shadow IIs. Should be a moot point once we have all MC-130J Commando IIIs. Checks with what I was told: Talons could only be first assignment EWO, Shadows, and Commando II can be first assignment nav.
lmarron Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Thanks for the info. I'm 13-12, so a little ways out but good to gather some info. I appreciate it.
Guest one Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 (edited) I was 13-12 too. Isn't that bullshit? Edited October 17, 2012 by one
