I couldn't help but laugh at the scenes where he's singing while everyone around him is doing their J-O-B. If he was doing that around me, I'd be like 'Dude, stop that goddamn singing and grab ATIS'. It'd be a little hard to concentrate, not gonna lie.

That video has it all wrong. There are way too many shots of "airplanes" and not enough shots of the real warriors. The role models in our world's greatest air force. Where were the shots at MPF? How about the true heroes from the PFT monitoring service?

From one of the comments under the video.

Sounds like a mix between Creed and Nickelback

I suppose that's a step or two above TIB. It sounds a little too over dramatic like The Fruit Guys made it.

That actually doesn't suck all that bad.

It's not all that awesome, but considering some of the crap that we've seen from the AF that tries desperately to be hip this actually approaches something listenable and isn't entirely lame. Well, except for the 2nd half of the song when we're being preached to about core values -- that part is pretty lame. If you check out some of their other YouTube videos, they're performing in flight suits without a hint of wings to be seen on them anywhere...that, too, is pretty lame.

All that being said, I'd rather see these dudes than TIB or the AF Band any day of the week.

These guys are part of The Air Force Band:AF Band

The bands program is larger than just the ceremonial/concert band. They are part of heritage along with the big bands a la Maj. Glenn Miller. There are also groups that serve as dinner entertainment along the lines of solo piano and jazz combos. Each area has an active duty band as well as an ANG band that is to be utilized for any official gathering.

Yeah, it's kinda hokey, but I gotta give them good marks for effort.

$5 said some shoe made them put the core values thing in there or they wouldn't get the funding to shoot the vid.

'Dude, stop that goddamn singing and grab ATIS'...that made me laugh out loud.

First, I repeat: :rainbow: .

Second, mixing the "core values" into your tune puts you right up there with TIB. The whole thing wreaks of "Oh yeah mainstream modern day AF airman, you don't like TIB?!? Well, check this out!"

My two favorite parts:

A) The guy taxiing the A-10 by the guy singing. Seriously?

B) The U-2 scenes.

At least they focused on the "real Air Force"...not ShoeLand.

That's standard. You didn't know about that?

Yeah, one time I went to DM for Blue Flag...ended up going to the clinic and had to stand in line behind 3 singers who were run over by taxiing Hawgs.

Overall...I kind of wanted to like the video, but it tried a little too hard and ended up being preachy.

"DM AFB ATIS information X-ray...Use caution: personnel and microphones in vicinity of Taxiway Charlie..."

BTW, I can't believe that dude wasn't hit by the A-10. No reflective belt.

I enjoyed the video until the slow part...then too much fist pumping, marshalling signals, whatever between ground crews and pilots.

Decent music though...a huge improvement over TIB.

Points for effort, and I liked the airplane shots...but kinda awkward and uncomfortable to watch. Something about 8 dudes in their ABUs playing instruments in the desert while singing (over dramatically) about the Air Force...I dunno.

I heard there are eight Air Force Bands employing 700 people. Assuming that the AF spends $40,000/yr, that's $28,000,000 per year. For that, we could probably get a top name band to play a concert every day, either here or overseas. Now that's much better entertainment.

But then again, that's capitalist thinking. TIB is more of a socialist band.

Needed lots more shit blowing up. Some sanitized combat footage would've been perfect during the preaching, just to keep things in the proper perspective.

It also would've been awesome to see the troops sporting reflective belts.

One of the Viper dudes doing a walk around is in my squadron, must have been at Red Flag last year. Can't wait to give him shit tomorrow, I bet he doesn't even know.
