Pornography found in bin Laden hideout

(Reuters) - A stash of pornography was found in the hideout of Osama bin Laden by the U.S. commandos who killed him, current and former U.S. officials said on Friday.

The pornography recovered in bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, consists of modern, electronically recorded video and is fairly extensive, according to the officials, who discussed the discovery with Reuters on condition of anonymity

“It was not torture, or cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment of detainees that got us the major leads that ultimately enabled our intelligence community to find Osama bin Laden,” McCain said in a stirring 22-minute speech from the Senate floor.

“I do not believe they are necessary to our success in our war against terrorists, as the advocates of these techniques claim they are,” he said.

McCain directly criticized former Attorney General Michael Mukasey for publicly suggesting recently that waterboarding of alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed led investigators to the courier who ferried information to and from bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan.

Mukasey has said Mohammed “broke like a dam” during the 183 waterboardings performed on him.

“That is false,” McCain said, citing a report from CIA director Leon Panetta who said the courier’s identity was obtained elsewhere.

Waterboarding KSM “actually produced false and misleading information,” McCain said, explaining that Mohammed’s information on the courier was ultimately proven incorrect.

I completely agree. words words words...

If you add a second task then your focus is now on two things, thus you have diverted your full attention on the first thing and have become distracted by the second task.

Walk and chew bubblegum? Is that an EP for you? I've seen students who didn't multi-task well, but I think it is safe to say that the head of the US govt gets help making more than one thing happen at a time.

I still put that in the WIN category.

And perhaps the rounds were accidently dropped in pigs blood...not that I would condone that "evil" action since it would be cruel and totally against everything America stands for...but here is to wishful thinking...

Holy old link batman. Based on the 6.9 foot stack of .223 ammo on sale at Cabela's, I would guess that US makers have caught up to demand and then some. However, point taken in regard to the implied (or at least inferred) reference to the Israel ally topic.

Thanks for the debrief Dr Buzzkill.

Absolutely amazing. :salut:

"Nine years, seven months, and twenty days after September 11th, an American was a trigger pull from ending bin Laden’s life. The first round, a 5.56-mm. bullet, struck bin Laden in the chest. As he fell backward, the SEAL fired a second round into his head, just above his left eye. On his radio, he reported, “For God and country—Geronimo, Geronimo, Geronimo.” After a pause, he added, “Geronimo E.K.I.A.”—“enemy killed in action.”
