Does anyone have any experience with nerve injuries? I got my funny bone pretty good about a month ago and am now feeling some significant pain from that nerve during any maneuvering about 7 g's. The docs are hoping it's just inflamed and have me on some steroids.

I've had some issues with chronic ulnar nerve inflammation for a few years. I went to see a specialist who gave me a few techniques to cool the infammation on the nerve. After initially injuring it about five years ago during a basketball game, his tips have worked for the most part. Every now and then I've got some numbness, but I haven't had any since trying these tips out.

According to the Doc:

1) Don't lean on your elbow.

2) Sleep with your arms straight or wrapped around something so your elbow is at an angle greater than 90 degrees.

3) When exercising, try to do neutral grip movements. If not, make sure you are smooth and controlled.

Hopefully that helps.

I was exiting an aircraft several years ago and hit my left elbow on the step. It caused me severe pain and partial numbness in my arm. Long story short, I ended up having to have surgery – a decompression of my left ulnar nerve. It did some good, but it has been 3 years since the surgery and still have problems with it. I would recommend getting it looked at by a neurologist. CB84 gave the best advice to prevent further irritation.
