Guest Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Reminds me of when we closed the closest targets to FAC Hill on the Nellis ranges because of the desert tortoise. The tortoises were having huge turtle keg/rave parties out there right up until we stopped dropping bombs and strafing tanks. Once we stopped, the turtles packed up and moved out. No shit. Nice job tree huggers.
Dupe Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 OBJECTIVE: Research and develop a system that uses a ruggedized field-portable unit to detect, identify and track desert fauna in remote areas...A secondary purpose is to produce species specific activity maps (similar to lightning strike maps) with frequency and location (+/- 2 meters)... Well...Apart from the tree-huggers, I can't see any other use for a system that could autonomously track living things through the desert to targeting-level accuracy.... 2
