JS Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Had a Founders Brewing Breakfast Stout the other week. It's a double-chocolate coffee oatmeal stout, and it is delicious. Easily one of the best beers I have ever had. 9.6/10. Very solid beer - especially for the winter. I also think Founder's Porter is probably the best porter out there as well. And their Centennial IPA is very good too.
contraildash Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Sierra Nevada Narwhal: black as midnight, thick like molasses. Good stuff.
sputnik Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Has anyone tried New Belgium's Accumulation IPA? Solid IPA, picked up a case at Costco. I like it, can't say much more.
Right Seat Driver Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Solid IPA, picked up a case at Costco. I like it, can't say much more. Great IPA!Highly recommend Delirium Tremens. Difficult to find, but worth the work to get it. https://www.deliriumbeer.com
Hodor Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Left Hand Wake Up Dead Imperial Stout. Long name for a good beer. Thick, strong, dark as coffee.
Beretta Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Baltika #7 10 out of 10 Not too bitter Not too hoppy Nice finish
Day Man Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 split a 2013 Bourbon County Brand Stout with the Old Man on NYE. Very boozy (its 14% abv), lots of chocolate, caramel, black licorice, and a bit of bourbon, but you can taste the potential for aging. Looking forward to cracking one in several years.
Smokin Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) Left Hand Wake Up Dead Imperial Stout. Long name for a good beer. Thick, strong, dark as coffee. And the brewery was founded by two previous Air Force guys. Gives me ideas for my retirement plan. If you like that, try their Nitro Stout or the Milk Stout. Edited January 3, 2014 by Smokin
Winchester Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Revolver Brewery blood and honey American Ale is delightful! Brewed in Granbury Texas. Very smooth with hints of grapefruit and honey.
TreeA10 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Revolver does an open house every Saturday from noon to 3 if you to be passing through the neighborhood.
sputnik Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Any G2 on Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA? I don't know what G2 means, but I like the Torpedo. Local Costco stocks it and I drink lots.
TacAirCoug Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Great IPA! Highly recommend Delirium Tremens. Difficult to find, but worth the work to get it. https://www.deliriumbeer.com I'll second the vote for DT. I also knock back a lot of Bear Republic's Racer 5 IPA.
BigE Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Porterhouse Devil's Half Acre -- a Dark IPA, 13.5 ABV, aged 6 months in Irish Wiskey casks. If you are ever in Dublin I highly recommend it.
Azimuth Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Shiner White Wing Witbier/4.70& ABV/Not bad, 3.5 out of 5.
stract Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 second on the white wing, I dig it. Also, just had the Breckenridge Agave Wheat, and while slightly sweeter than other wheats, goes down smooth. 8/10.
Spur38 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I don't know what G2 means, but I like the Torpedo. Local Costco stocks it and I drink lots. G2 refers literally to Division Level or higher military intelligence..... 1 2
Spoo Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 "G2"? Seriously? Nobody fucking says that, you're trying too hard.
Spur38 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 "G2"? Seriously? Nobody ######ing says that, you're trying too hard. I guess there's still a lot of us old fuckers still do....with out trying hard!
sputnik Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I guess there's still a lot of us old fuckers still do....with out trying hard! Wait, so saying "what's the G2" means "what's the intel?" Hell, I was in the Army, and I've never heard that before. Anyway, Torpedo good (my palate, not that sophisticated)
Spur38 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Wait, are you Army? Retired Army Wait, so saying "what's the G2" means "what's the intel?" Hell, I was in the Army, and I've never heard that before. Anyway, Torpedo good (my palate, not that sophisticated) You may have come in after I left 1969-2009....I bought Torpedo and its really good stuff! Thanks sputnik!
Lawman Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Currently drinking a McEwans Scotch Ale. It was a replacement for another Scottish ale I was looking for but couldn't find. Very good flavor. Almost has a caramel/malt flavor to it but not in a way that you forget your drinking a beer.
