No idea what this sentence means...also, no idea why you posted a picture of the A29 Super Tucano in a thread about the AT-6? ThreeHoler
The real question is who is the winner who is trying so hard to speak like Gunnery Sergeant Hartman? Edited August 18, 2011 by ThreeHoler
Almansur
The real question is who is the winner who is trying so hard to speak like Gunnery Sergeant Hartman? Me's'a foreigner, patois' different. Sorry, will amend ways. My main question is: doesn't that AT-6 gear look a bit frail for what it is?
HercDude
What AT-6? It's already been pointed out that the picture you posted is a Tucano, not a T-6. You can tell by the 5 bladed prop, rounded as opposed to triangular starter air intake below the left cowling, FLIR (or whatever) in the nose as opposed to under the cokpit, and the fact that its has a Brazilian registration number (but odly that looks like a Colombian roundel on the aft fuseladge). ClearedHot
AT-6 on the video, Super Tucano on the picture for comparison... Fail... First rule of debrief, admit mistakes and learn from them. epsilon
got to fly the AT-6 2 times last year during an operational eval at DM. It was a sweet airplane actually.
astrodog
AT-6 seems like a better design. Putting the eye ahead of the exhaust shroud should improve visibilty greatly.

HU&W
How in the world did that engine not shit itself as soon as that dust started flying into the intake? Probably the same way all those other PT6's do just fine in the dirt.
nunya
How in the world did that engine not shit itself as soon as that dust started flying into the intake? The reverse flow design certainly helps.

HerkDerka
How in the world did that engine not shit itself as soon as that dust started flying into the intake? Inertial separation. Introduces a high-G turn in the intake flow prior to the compressor. Debris is too heavy to make the turn.
