Azimuth Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) His legendary douchebaggery poisoned a generation of Herk drivers. The best thing that could happen as a result of his toxic leadership is for those that were forced to serve under him to use him as an example of what not to be. There are plenty of home grown bad leaders in every MDS. It didn't take an outsider to poison the Herk community. Bright days ahead for the 19 AW. Edited June 1, 2015 by Azimuth
Majestik Møøse Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Rhatigan is retired effective today. Did he get an interview anywhere?
Azimuth Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Did he get an interview anywhere? He didn't apply. Butters told him the airlines weren't just ice cream and blowjobs. 1

panchbarnes Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) Military Career Decision Survey It's probably the best and most honest survey I've seen during my time in the AF. I did my part in letting the AF know how I feel. I hope everyone else takes the time to do the same. Edited June 24, 2015 by PanchBarnes 1
Ram Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Can someone link me the survey? For some reason, I appear to be left off the distro list...
Karl Hungus Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Can someone link me the survey? For some reason, I appear to be left off the distro list... Did you already take the bonus? It seems to be targeted at those who haven't taken/ won't take the bonus. The AF floats a few trial balloons in it- increase the bonus to $35/yr pre-tax (only corrects for inflation since late 90s), 15 year UPT ADSCs where 8 are on AD and 7 in the ARC (because we all know the AF won't screw that one up), and (the most interesting) shorter bonus contracts, potentially down to one year. I can see lots of people waiting til the last minute and signing a one year bonus ADSC. The worst the AF could do is send you on a 180 deployment. You could still 7 day/ 3 day opt a PCS, 365, etc. That doesn't really help management though, so who knows what they're thinking. Haven't heard from Liquid in a while...
ThreeHoler Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I know people who took the bonus and received the survey link.
panchbarnes Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 The survey is probably AFSC dependent. I don't recall seeing anything about the $35K/yr bonus.
sky_king Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 It mentioned it as raising the bonus an additional $10k. Doesn't specifically say 35k.
DirkDiggler Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Not sure if this was the best thread but interesting reading nonetheless https://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/policy-budget/2015/06/24/brad-carson-personnel-systems-reform-outdated-ash-carter-attrition-retirement-human-resources/29208959/ 1
17D_guy Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 The survey is probably AFSC dependent. I don't recall seeing anything about the $35K/yr bonus. I got a survey as well. It seemed very different from the one you guys are chatting about, so this seems right.
pawnman Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 The survey is probably AFSC dependent. I don't recall seeing anything about the $35K/yr bonus. Mine talked extensively about the bonus...I'm a 12B, no bonus for me.
11F Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 There's a question on this survey that asks you what your AFSC is. Immediately following this question is when I was asked questions about the bonus. In other words, the survey asks different questions to different people based on their answers throughout.

As someone who could have applied to VSP last year and turned down the bonus this year to separate, I did my part to let them know it's not about the money or size of the bonus. I did find interesting all the questions regarding the 15 year pilot training commitment. Personally, I think it's BS, but I probably would have signed it in ROTC not knowing what I know now. 1
Gravedigger Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 The next HAF/A3 will be the first non-rated ops chief for the Air Force. Thoughts? Does it matter what the A3's background is? As a space guy, I'm happy. I imagine there are some aircrew in the Pentagon that are not as thrilled. New A3 Gen Raymond Bio

New A3Gen Raymond Bio I think it shows the AF's evolution from Nuke Bomber Command to the 21st Century and the strategic importance of Space (and Cyber soon too) 1

Alot uf us were excited about Norton Schwartz because he represented a break with the fighter mafia ... I'm happy with good leadership and am mostly indifferent to AFSC. 8
