Fuzz Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 The comments on the JQP Facebook post has nothing but overt praise for this guy, which I think speaks volumes that his only detractor to come forward so far has nothing but wild and disproven accusations and has done so anonymously. There are always two sides to the story but so far only half of one side is being told because the other refuses to provide any info. It would seem that a commander that was fired for misconduct would go away quietly and not wish his story to be blasted across the internet. As someone who was stationed with Kaiser and had Rat as a Commander, I'm not surprised by the story. Surprised that he was fired or surprised it turned out this way? And hasn't Col. Rhatigan's name been mentioned before on BODN?
Azimuth Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) I'd heard rumors about Kaiser's DUI, but that was before my time. I also had heard rumors about him getting friendly with the CSS and Intel Airmen when they were deployed circa 2003, but never proven. I know he blacklisted some Herk guys from the 89th when he was the recruiting officer. I'm friends with his Load Superintendent and he has nothing but positive praise for Kaiser, and he was stationed with him before. So YMMV. He's no saint, but neither is Rat (considering his old Sq failed an ASEV right after he PCS'd unscathed), but Rat is connected and in the driver's seat. I saw him do shady shit as well to people's lives so I'm not surprised about all of this. Edited July 28, 2014 by Azimuth
SurelySerious Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 And hasn't Col. Rhatigan's name been mentioned before on BODN? A bunch...and mostly in this thread, if that's any indication. 1
Smokin Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 ... But the OG and Wing shuffling the old boss out the door with a gag order, ... How in the world do you fire someone and then issue a gag order? Even if it involved something classified that could merit a legitimate gag order, surely the rule/law broken is unclassified. Sounds like an automatic IG/Congressional complaint or even straight to a lawsuit.
Fuzz Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 A bunch...and mostly in this thread, if that's any indication. Yeah went a searched his name, the "B-1 guy".
SurelySerious Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I'm reading a book that I think details some of what is missing in the Air Force. It doesn't really fit in the "military books" thread, so I'll throw it down here. Invisibles: The Power of Anonymous Work in an Age of Relentless Self-Promotion By David Zweig He profiles people in various skilled career fields whose craft goes largely unnoticed (and who are intrinsically motivated), but the success of their effort is inherent to the success of the organization. His three identified traits are : 1) Ambivalence toward recognition, 2) Meticulousness, and 3) Savoring of responsibility. It's an attitude and approach you still see in maintenance crews, comm guys, and aircrew, just one you wish you saw more of. I think it's worth the read.
MD Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Who shit the bed? 161st or 162nd? Probably the the 214th...
Champ Kind Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) JQP posted a copy of the referral OPR and the rebuttal/supporting documents on his FB page. Looks like he's trying to put in some real effort to help. Edited July 28, 2014 by Champ Kind
SurelySerious Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 JQP posted a copy of the referral OPR and the rebuttal/supporting documents on his FB page. WTF 1
Kaman Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Disproportionate number of personnel not engaged or trained as war-fighters.
Slow-Smooth-Fast Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Reading the comments, it sounds like he got Feminazied. wut
Azimuth Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) Why is the Senior Rater on his OPR the WYANG Wing King, and not Rhatigan? Yet Rhatigan ordered his removal. This isn't how every other TFI in the MAF rates. This is very shady. Good on him keeping all of his support documentation. Edited July 29, 2014 by Azimuth
Fifty-six & Two Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Why is the Senior Rater on his OPR the WYANG Wing King, and not Rhatigan? Yet Rhatigan ordered his removal. This isn't how every other TFI in the MAF rates. This is very shady. Good on him keeping all of his support documentation. I believe it was changed a year or two ago that their performance reports would routed through the WYANG. Their PRFs still go through the 19th though. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Majestik Møøse Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Oh my, they changed his push line to MAJCOM staff, the horror. We are seriously retarded when we are still inserting secret push line code words into a referral OPR.
SurelySerious Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 WTF that he posted it, or WTF? At the situation.
17D_guy Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Between the two firings, that are now extremely public, how is the CSAF going to have the audacity to say there's no ethical problem within the ranks? These are being discussed in my own little part of the Comm world. This is a real discussion point for use lowly CGOs. Chist.. now I have to document, document, document when I want to fire someone. And do it when I'm a CC just to make sure if I'm relieved of command for no reason I can start a Congressional that'll go nowhere. At least the Maj who created a toxic environment this dude got blamed with will be handled appropriately. 1

On the second, I'm hoping that's sarcasm, considering this person apparently showboats about the then 18th AF/CC now AMC/CC being his personal mentor.
Bender Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 These are being discussed in my own little part of the...world. Dear lord...good. The people working out here appreciate it when critical thought gets applied. Just be careful, we don't always know the whole story, so discuss at will...accuse carefully. Chist.. now I have to document, document, document when I want to fire someone. You were, and still are, supposed to do that. Just because he crashes his Porsche... Bendy
pawnman Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Oh my, they changed his push line to MAJCOM staff, the horror. We are seriously retarded when we are still inserting secret push line code words into a referral OPR. Interesting that it says he failed to create a good climate...yet he's still #2/9 SQ/CCs. WTF are numbers 3-9 doing?
BitteEinBit Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 From what I gather, it seems he was given a performance review with the below Draft OPR, then blindsided with the Referral OPR. #1 of 20 SQ/CCs The "People skills unrivaled" is what killed him there. Everyone knows you have to be socially awkward to be a great commander these days. Why in the world would we want commanders with a personality?!? 2
