Lawman Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Well the thread title was only a year off. Good hunting.
Marco Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 CNN claiming this morning that Raptor got it's beak wet. To all the crews, safe flying, happy hunting.
HeloDude Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 So...are we friends with Assad now? Either way, he really, really appreciates the help. Crossing the 'red line' now equates to us doing your dirty work. Didn't the President say mulitple times that Assad's days were numbered?
Marco Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) Hey now, we 're training the "moderate" guys. It'll go off without a hitch... Edit: da spellz Edited September 23, 2014 by Marco
pawnman Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Hey now, we 're training the "moderate" guys. It'll go off without a hitch... Edit: da spellz Giving weapons and training to rebels has never bitten us in the ass before. There's no possible way it can go wrong.
Sim Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I hope they are monitoring these guys FB and Twitter accounts. Please reveal yourselves and don't forget to post selfies..lots of them. Still waiting for BDA by social media. Only two videos has been posted so far; impacts at night and bits of TLAM.
Majestik Møøse Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Israel downed a Syrian jet with a Patriot. ISIS is likely taking the credit. https://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/24/world/middleeast/israel-syria.html First shootdown of an enemy jet by a Patriot. They're now 1-2. 1
Day Man Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 CNN claiming this morning that Raptor got it's beak wet. Pentagon spokesman just confirmed...dropped guided munitions on a C2 facility.
HossHarris Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Must've been a hell of a Mez if it required raptors to get a bomb off
polcat Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Can we update the title of the thread to "Saddle up for Syria? Or Operation Deny Christmas '14"? F-22s popped their cherry, finally.
Guest ThatGuy Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 So empty buildings and training camps with jungle gyms were torn apart by million dollar weaponry. A class of 3rd graders are pissed off in Syria and Iraq now. What did the jungle gym ever do to hurt America? It will be a recruiting tool.
Guest LumberjackAxe Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Here's the article: https://edition.cnn.com/2014/09/23/politics/f22-plane-isis/index.html?iref=allsearch I love how the 135 is showcased on the screen.

Karl Hungus Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So what's the end state? There is none. Perpetual war.
Azimuth Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Here's the article: https://edition.cnn.com/2014/09/23/politics/f22-plane-isis/index.html?iref=allsearch I love how the 135 is showcased on the screen. Vietnam, WW Storm, Bosnia, OEF/OIF, now this. The old war wagon never quits.
summe32c Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 https://www.cnn.com/2014/09/23/world/meast/syria-israel-plane/index.html From report: "The plane penetrated roughly a kilometer (more than half a mile) into Israeli airspace." I guess "missile launch" was their work north call. Landed back in Syria after ejection. Blame the WSO.
B*D*A Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 The old war wagon never quits. Only the 'through the boom' and PDLs....
LockheedFix Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 https://www.cnn.com/2014/09/23/world/meast/syria-israel-plane/index.html From report: "The plane penetrated roughly a kilometer (more than half a mile) into Israeli airspace." I guess "missile launch" was their work north call. Landed back in Syria after ejection. Blame the WSO. I can think of at least two USAF crews that flew way more than 0.5 NM into countries that we are openly hostile towards. Good thing they didn't have Israels IADS. That doesn't count the incursions we've had into Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, etc.
di1630 Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 CNN claiming this morning that Raptor got it's beak wet. Glad they got in the fight. USAF prediction: -DFC's in lieu of air medals -McKay Trophy frontrunner for penetrating highly contested ISIS airspace narrowly defeating AK-47 gunfire. -Confirmed status as #1 A/G platform in aviation history finally displacing the B-1 of the coveted role. -Added to the list of USAF CAS (defined as any A/G mission/recon) proven aircraft but outdated and in urgent need of replacement by the F-35. 4
